I have looked around and have not been able to find a thread on Booster seats in the 458 Carbon seats. Does any one have any experience with booster seats in these seats?

There seems to be no booster or child safety seats for bucket or sport seats. I've been looking for years but available safety seats are too wide or have thin/sharp edges that damage car seats. The best I could find are safety seats that sit on top of the side bolsters, not within them.

I asked my dealer to check if any type of child seat prep (such as isofix) could be built into the race seats and the factory came back with a clear NO. So for now I've given up. Pls do let us know if you have a solution. Will also need to know how to turn off all passenger airbags too.

There is a solution. It is the Mercedes Babysmart set of seats. They have a model called Kidfix which I purchased for my 458 and fits perfectly in the racing seat (not on the bolsters, but between them) and turns off the airbag. It has a super trick latching mechanism that plugs right into the mounts in the race seat. My 5 year old fits great. They also have models for smaller kids.

you can buy from here, or order at any MB dealer

For a convertible booster you can also try the Radian series from Sunshine Kids. It has a flat and narrow base that fits in the carbon race seats in my scud without putting pressure on any of the side bolsters.

If your child is taller and you just need a base, Walmart sells a narrow, flat bottomed base that looks identical to the base on the Mercedes Kidfix but without the airbag sensor. The base is a little narrower than the Radian car seat.

    !?!? Really !?!?

Is it standard or did you have to custom order it? I asked my sales guy before and he said it wasn't available. That was previously my #1 priority - to be able to install a seat so my boy can share the experience - and was turned down flat from the dealership!

If its indeed the case then that as super added bonus!

Superquant - Any chance you can take a quick snap of how/where the baby seat mounts to?

    Superquant, you've made me superhappy!

Cannot find mention of isofix in the manual, and never noticed any signs on the seat. Away from the car for last couple of weeks but am dying to find out if mine does indeed have isofix mounts, It sounds strange to have them as standard on carbon racing seats, but like I say intrigued, will be inspecting my UK car this weekend to see if it has them

The seat for USA cars definitely has these mounts. Perhaps it is a legislative thing. They are right where the seat back meets the base. Unfortunately I have traded my car in early for a spider so I do not have the ability to take a picture but I am sure someone else on the board could do it. Just post a message in a new thread as a request.

I did not order or ask for it. They were just there in both the coupes I have had.
