A blue one with sport package, stick and 65k miles just sold on eBay for 17k. I know the auto and non sport option reduces the value, but I think you're a little off.
Holy hell, seriously? Was it celebrity owned? Edit - Sport and 6 speed is worth about triple non sport autos. Same with my E34.

Thanks man. Way ahead of ya though. My uncle has been on top of this whole thing since day 1. The day all that information came out he emailed me all the info.
Yeah it's not a stick, but it still is the tits! Drool Somebody got gipped! http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-5-Series-M-Sport-Package-/162144854641?forcerrptr=true&hash=item25c0962271:g:zn8AAOSwmtJXZ0L6&item=162144854641 I'd be all over that one if I were buying a 5
Very cool package... I have 2 buds that just took European delivery of these, spent 12 days adding miles in Europe to include, Nurburgring and SPA. I'm jealous.. Then another friend in the mid-west is awaiting delivery of his as well. Hey, at least I'll get some seat time!
Likely 5-6k depending on where you are. Auto 540i are a dime a dozen, you'd be getting a premium based on mileage but a big hit for the auto and non-sport. Amazing how those little changes affect the value so much. It cost me $2000 to do the 6spd swap and I added that to the value of the car.
Might be looking at selling my 2001 740i M-Sport soon. Dealer won't give more than a couple grand for it (then sell it for about $10,000 more) so attempting the private route. Details: Early 2001 (so 4:3 Nav screen) M-Sport 95,000 miles Anthracite over grey Options: Heated seats PDC Rear roller shade DSC (though can't remember if that was an option or standard) Issues: Broken front cup holder Rear headliner just started sagging this weekend Thoughts? I'll hit up Bimmerforums and such, but figured I'd try a non-BMW site and see what responses I get.
DSC is standard. Sporty shorties are worth a pretty penny now, your forum suggestions are good.. Bring a Trailer may be a worthwhile idea too. Got maintenance records for it? Specifically, cooling system and thrust arms? It's a bit low mileage for chain guides in my opinion. I suggest you get rid of the OEM cupholder entirely and replace with an aftermarket fixed one.
You'll never be able to sell it--best to fly me out and I'll take it off your hands. No charge, of course--it's the least I can do for a fellow F-Chatter.
The only "upgrade" is that it has blacked out kidney grilles from ECS Tuning. This is a car I have resisted doing any mods to. Shoot, I just replaced two blown factory subwoofers with...stock subs. Who the hell does that?
No, my cash is lookin' pretty old and dilapidated... you wouldn't want it. I do have a brand new set of Monopoly money though!
BMW Engines Are Gigantic Pieces Of **** You have to change the star to a synonym for crap stahrting with S ending in HIT
Shouldn't be hard get rid of with that condition and that mileage. I passed it along to a friend of mine. I"ll let you know if he's interested. Why are you selling it?
I've had a recent job change which has upped my budget significantly for another car purchase. Maybe even an F-car. If curious, I'm the third owner. I bought it in 2013 from the second who was the local BMW dealership used car GM. He bought it at auction and spent a bunch on maintenance (resealed engine, etc.) then sold it through the dealership about 10 months later. I think he more or less flipped it.
Tavarish is an abysmal journalist. Well he's not even a journalist so an abysmal blogger. However, I can't really disagree with what he says here, even if it's layered with wannabe Jeremy Clarkson hyperbole.
I don't know if they are just rare, or if they are plentiful but those who own them don't want to sell them. The more time passes the more I want a 2002, but if you think they're hard to find in the states, try Brazil...
Yeah you seldom see them come to think of it. The last time I saw one on the road was in undergrad back in 2003. A professor had a really clean red one and drove it very often
