BMW brakes on a 400i?

    I think I'm going to need some front brake work on the 82 400i. Someone looked at it for me, and told me the brakes look exactly like the ones from a 7-series BMW.

    I'd sure rather order calipers and pads from NAPA for a BMW than going to Ferrari and ordering the same items.

    Any comments?

    Your pads should cross to:
    72' - 77' BMW 3.0
    75' - 78' BMW 530i
    and others.
    The pad outline is a HAWK HB206 and you want the thinner (.565 or so) pad.
    As far as the calipers, the I believe the BMWs are different. That doesn't mean they won't work :)

    You would be best off having yours rebuilt.
