How do I remove it? I've only tried damp paper towels, and then with some mile hand soap. I thought of trying some mild laundry detergent, but that can kill the original leather color. I'd hate to replace the leather seat covers over this.

    Many thanks!

As the saying goes, " prevention is better than cure ". Using a good auto leather protect would have helped, or sitting on a towel while wearing blue jeans is even better, a pain i know but worth the trouble.
Blue jean dye transfer will not 99% of the time come out.
Be very carefull as you say as you may damage the surface of the leather when using detergents.
Once the dye transfer has occurred you may have to use a leather colour match pen to hide the defect.

    Oh no!!!!

So, you're saying it's terminal! I may need to replace the seat covers? The irony, is the leather is brand new. I replaced it because the previous dye job made the seats feel plastic. I had a white towel I was using on the driver's seat, but I stopped because I thought it was too 'excessive'. I already go through many gyrations to protect my baby.

Scrubbing? Will Connelly Hide Food help loosen its grip. Some leather cream-type product that will help the blue-ish color come off? I have a MB cleaning product (Cockpit Pfledge - or something like this) spray which has worked magic before. If I'm looking at re-covering the seat, it's worth trying something to save it.

    Thank you for any guidance.

I just saw this Griot product. But I know Mercedes typically uses vinyl, and Ferrari is exclusively leather.

Man, that stinks. I just saw a video on this topic a couple days ago. Guess I never had that problem because my jeans are old. I heard it was next to impossible to get out. So sorry.

It's mild compared to some of the examples I've seen, but it didn't just wipe away with minimal effort. I'll go try some more products. I'll stay with delicate cleaners for now.

    Last resort is replacement.

All modern leather in cars is coated with plastic. So all these leather feeders, "absorb into the leather" are misleading.

How does all that get past the plastic coating?

i use PERL by Carpro for all my vinyl and rubber and leather. You mix to the appropriate dilution.

for this particular issue, I would recomend Jax Wax | Carpet & Fabric Cleaner | Car Carpet Cleaner | Upholstery Car Cleaner Which is Jaxwax vinyly and leather cleaner, even though the link says upholstery cleaner

My wife works for the parent company that supplies Ferrari leather, so even this leather is plastic coated. Its made by Pointrona Frau. All those leather sofas and seats you seats in the dealership are all from that company as a side note

And Ferrari's installation of leather is horrible BTW. Hyundai does a better job (as noted by everyone that has bubbling issues

Many thanks! BTW - Poltrona Frau is an awesome company! I bought my dad a Ferrari briefcase, and he had an issue with it, and they were helpful in getting resolved.

And thanks for all of the recommendations. I have 6 or 7 leather products in my garage. Two or three are 20+ years old and dead in the bottles, but the others looked intact, and all look and smell identical. I was getting anxious and just picked one and gave it a go. I wouldn't say it was easy. Kind of high on the 'elbow-grease' factor, and I repeated many-many times, but it slowly came out. I used paper towels which showed a blue (but no tan) tinge on them, so that was good. I can absolutely see why folks say it could be a goner and permanent damage / staining from blue jeans. I will go back to the clean white towel on the seat to protect from now on. -OR-, wear only Ermenegildo Zegna slacks (just kidding).

And Thank You Gabmar. I've heard good things about Leatherique leather restoration products.

Somewhere on my list of things to do is tackle the shrunken black leather on BMW. I'm thinking this is a lost cause. I'd have to literally need to soak the seats in some magic elixir.

I ordered a 2023 Porsche and specified the Chalk interior with black trim, black alcantra console. There was a card in the car at delivery warning about wearing denim trousers ....... I had already been very careful not to wear jeans in my Ferrari's ..... I had a quartz leather coating applied to the Porsche seats but still don't believe it will work ....

Thanks - I sure wish I got that memo!

I guess with a black interior, it might not be a problem, but crema or tan is not so great.

Surprised about the Tesla interior ... I believe they are "vegan leather" or vinyl and should be reasonable durable ....
