I'm still collecting names for a list of reputable Ferrari shops in the L.A. area for PPIs. I plan to look at two 308s in Central L.A. this week, and Blackhorse is more or less centrally located as a PPI candidate. Would anyone care to volunteer an opinion?

When you say PPIs, I gather you are referring to a pre-purchase inspection, a detailed assessment by a qualified individual to determine the cosmetic, mechanical, and safety condition of a vehicle before completing the purchase. Most pre-purchase inspections are done by a certified mechanic or automotive technician who is knowledgeable in the make and model of the vehicle being inspected. The intent of the PPI is to uncover existing conditions or to reveal maintenance shortcomings that may become potential safety or financial issues for the buyer in the future.

We do PPIs here at Specialty Car Craft for Ferrari, Lamborghini and other exotic cars.

We welcome all FerrariChat members, their friends and associates.

We are located at 1862 So. La Cienega Blvd. in Los Angeles near Beverly Hills.

    Our website is www.specialtycarcraft.com.

Carl at Blackhorse will treat you and your potential new car right, he will do a very comprehensive PPI. Vintage or new, he is the guy you want to see, does amazing jobs on restorations and work on the latest cars too. Been dealing with him for years and nothing but good things to say about him. Period.

Specialty Car Craft is a great body show, and I use them too, Steve is a great guy and treats people right, just never aware of them doing mechanical PPI's.

    +1 for Blackhorse.
Sold my 328 gts and Carl did the PPI for the buyer.
    He was very thorough.

HI Larry I just bought a car in LA. Checks out very well and was reported on by dcpropulsion (Chris). Anyway, I live in the UK and the car would need to be picked up, serviced (fluids etc) including new crackle paint on the valve covers and gaskets. All else checks out fine but would likely need detailing also. I was thinking of being in CA in August and driving the car prior to shipping it back to the UK. (not sure what I would need to do for that for paperwork).

    Any thoughts?

    Best

    William
