I would like to make the wider Ferrari community aware that buying an item from Ryan Bushell at Classic Ferrari Parts (www.classicferrariparts.co.uk) has currently left me out of pocket a few hundred dollars with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Back in April, I purchased a 1950s vintage Ferrari item for $350. I was also charged $50 for shipping from the UK to Texas. Since the item weighed next to nothing and would easily fit in an envelope, you might think this would indicate that it would be shipped by FedEx, UPS, etc.? No, the seller sent it through the regular postal service and it promptly got lost. (https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?qtc_tLabels1=RN168795275GB)

I began contacting Ryan asking where the item was. Every time, I was told to wait while he contacted the shipper. This went on for a month or two. Nothing… Then he said he would process an insurance claim. More waiting, but never a refund for the lost item… Finally, I got tired of waiting and contested the charge with my credit card. More waiting, while we went back and forth with statements… Finally, Ryan responded to the chargeback stating that he did not authorize a return. Unfortunately for me, my credit card’s customer service department is truly clueless, so the chargeback was rejected because of “conflicting information”. The only conflicting information was Classic Ferrari Parts’ statement about a return. How could I return something I never even received? My credit card company said that I could initiate a chargeback denial appeal. Naturally, this would involve more waiting while processing a new claim…

“Fortunately”, at this point, Ryan offered to send out a replacement item. I happily accepted. More waiting, for the item to go out... I never got a confirmation email with a tracking number, so I sent out a couple of emails inquiring as to what the status of the shipment was. Then, no responses, nothing…

At this point, it has been months, I have received nothing, I have a seller who will not even respond to emails, and I am looking at having to process another chargeback claim, which is sort of like talking to a black hole… Possibly being out a few hundred dollars in not going to impact my lifestyle much, but feeling “screwed over” by Ryan Bushell and Classic Ferrari Parts is not a pleasant feeling. I would advise anyone else to think long and hard before doing business with this individual or his company.

I have had numerous dealings with Ryan, and never had an issue with any aspect of the deal.

Not trying to defend him or imply that you are the 'patsy', but I am almost certain
things can be worked out with him.

He has too much to lose to have his reputation be compromised.

    Just my nickel...

    Regards, Alberto

Knowing the O.P. as I do I sincerely doubt that Mr. Bushell has a plausible leg to stand on. Four months and no resolution? It seems if the vendor really cared that something would have been worked out long before now.

I have tried to do everything possible for months now, but it is hard resolve things with someone who will not even respond to an email. And, unfortunately, that is where matters stand right now.

My feelings exactly. Replacement? Refund? At this point, either would be just fine. It's the part about being jerked around and blown off that is upsetting.

Not knowing the O.P., I certainly have not put his misadventures in doubt.
    Only stated my experiences.

Nevertheless, it would now appear that Mr. Bushell is skating on very thin ice, on a very big lake...

After getting no response from Ryan to emails for about two weeks, I finally heard from him today. He says he has been very busy and will "chase this up with PayPal today". I will update this thread later if anything positive happens or if it is just more stall and delay.

Item was lost in the post, and a claim was filed with the postal service. No response has been received from them. A chargeback was issued by the OP, and a refund was sent (not received, unsure why).

I am out of pocket for the original item and the refund amount.

Nonetheless, a replacement will be sent out in the AM.

Can I ask what you were buying? I've looked at this guys stuff before. Mainly books and tools at "punchy" prices

I just received a replacement item from Ryan Bushell at Classic Ferrari Parts. My thanks go out to him for resolving this problem. While I do not know if this would have eventually happened without my having started this thread, I do know that this situation got resolved in a hurry once it became public here. For that, I am certainly thankful to Rob and Ferrarichat.

Happy to read your problem has been resolved. That's great news.
If you feel Ryan has done right by you, perhaps it's worth considering amending the thread title in some way to indicate that ("Problem resolved", etc.).

    Best Regards,
    Dave

To the best of my knowledge, I do not believe I have the ability to do that. If Rob or the moderators have some sort of policy regarding this type of situation, I am more than happy to abide by it.

Good point. I know not of what I speak, having edited only posts I've made.

You could try reporting a random post in this thread and putting the reason why in the attached box?

Has the problem been resolved? The product has now arrived but after what appears to me to be very poor customer care. Long periods of no contact from the seller and the product delivered only after this thread was started. The transaction may have been completed but the original problem has not been resolved IMHO.
