Hey everyone, I am replacing the front tires. It looks like there are a lot of excellent comments on the Continental and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Fiorano. C I know the Direzionale Pirelli tires are OEM but does any one have any comments?????

I stuck with the OEM Bridge Expedia S01 and don't regret my choice. Excellent compromise for road/track.

IMO, it's not a matter of absolute quality of tires, but rather how well their characteristics match the way the car was set-up by the factory.

I also favor the Bridgstone Expedia - they are a little softer than the P's and seem to have more grip, on the down side, a softer tire will wear quicker...

That's what I can confirm for my 6-speed.
I was surprised about good grip in the rain as well.

I am not to worried about the wear. I will only drive 2-4k miles per year. Do they also have an inner and outer side like the Pirelli's????

They are. I do not prefer the P-0's. I have had the Goodyear f1's and the Mich Pilot Sport S2 an I believe the Pilot Sport are by far the best. I am just wondering since I have not owned these tires on a Ferrari if any one else ha an what their experience was.

Good, I was just making sure I was clear on my facts.

A couple of the EC Crew are running new Pilot Sports on their 360's. The tire looks good (thin sidewall) and, based on their reports, sticks well and handles in sun and rain. They are pleased with it. Just one data point.

Interesting Michael. I guess, then, Ferrari uses multiple tire mfg's for it's OEM tires. Makes sense. Porsche does the same thing. I believe their OEM suppliers are Bridgestone Potenza's or Conti's. Eric, can you confirm?

OEM Pirelli Zeros Rating 6/10...fair all purpose tyre...bit noisy.
Michelin Pilot Sport Cups Rating 7/10...good dry grip...very poor in the wet.
Pirelli Corsas Rating 9/10...excellent tyre...road and track..soft and quiet.
Hoosiers Rating 10/10...for track use only!

I have tried other tyres (Bridgestone, Yokohama & Dunlop) on other cars (BMW's) and still found Pirelli Corsas the best overall performance tyre.

Tyres are often a matter of personal preference and what characteristics you are looking for...eg good wear v. extra grip...road v. track...dry v. wet etc. Also $ costs.

Do you think the Corsa's are too aggressive for street? I don't plan on taking the 355 to the track. I am basicly a 2-4k mile sunny weather driver. I don't drive the car if rain is in the forecast within 24 hrs....so I don't care about the poor wet weather capabilities. If I drive in normal conditions should I expect about 8-12k miles on the Corsa's????

They are a superb tyre. Great for the street...soft, compliant, quiet and very grippy if you ever take your car on a twisty road. Good in the wet too unless there are sheets of water on the road...then you need to slow down to prevent aquaplaning.
You should get 8-12,000km (5-8,000miles) from them if you do not track the car. They are soft! At your annual rate of driving, they will probably need refreshing by then anyway. The fronts will last longer than the rears. I also recommend a wheel balance and alignment when you install them.
Run at 32psi cold for road use. (If on track...lower pressures so that they run at 34psi when hot...which is their optimal operating temperature).
    Hope this helps.

So I guess what this means is I need to "buck up" and buy an extra set of wheels and skin them with Corsa's for the track days.......There is an event coming up in March at the Barber Motorsports Speedway in Birmingham, Alabama. What a beautiful track. Already biting my nails waiting for the day....

When you say 5-8k miles, does that mean the rear tires?

Yes, rear tyres...providing you don't go on the track.
If you do, expect less depending on how you drive.

My Pirelli's on the back are still 85% life but the front tires are still original (date stamp is 6 months before the cars manufacture date). Do you guy's think it would bo ok to put Corsa's or Pilot Sport's on the front???? Or should I stay Pirelli on all 4 corners?
