Having had a 430 and most recently a 430 Scuderia, I am pretty familiar with the various exhausts; however, I have recently picked up a 2014 458 Spider and of course, I am looking at exhausts for it now. I am looking for recommendations on the various cat back systems - valved or non valved doesn't matter.

After tons of research, sound clips and live listening, I found the best option for the 458 to be the IPE F1 Titanium system w/o cats. That's what I went with and I am super happy with my decision. Also, no CEL light!

You'd need the valved muffler, just for the cold start.

I disconnected the vacuum lines so that the the baffles remain open all the time. Sounds great. No problems.

When the lines were connected it sounded great for about a minute...and then the baffles came in. Yuck.

If you want the best the above or you can go with capristo headers capristo cat delete and IPE mufflers which is second in line!

Fully modified one is totally different. It is much much louder. And it sounds very annoying when cold started, exactly like this video. Neighbors can hear it very clear from 300 metres (10 houses) away from inside their house. Actually when the car is moving, you can lug it so it won't be that loud. But no chance for cold start.

    Pure nirvana sound.

To anyone saying the sound thread is beat to death I would agree...just click the link and enjoy.

No need to defend a 488.

    ;)

IPE doesn't emit CEL warnings with their cat-less system and it's stock oem tuned. 👍

sounds great, but I find the Novitec pricing to be outrageous

Novitec muffler screams higher. I've been on a track with IPE (not sure F1 or Titanium). Cheaper option is to go Fabspeed for the header, Novitec Catless and Muffler, then Evomsit ECU. And I think every catless or sport cat will give you engine light. IPE or Novitec is just the muffler and header. So you'd still need Evomsit ECU.

The cold start sounds awful. Driven below 80 degree engine temp, the car still sounds weird. But after 80 degree (on the speedo), it sounds like mini F1 on a public road. Once you've driven, no stock-road-legal Ferrari will ever satisfy your ear anymore, not even the stock V12s. IMO, everybody who love sound must do this.

The IPE Ti system is also an F1 type exhaust.

Hi all, how much $$$ are we talking about for these exhaust enhancements? $10K-15K? I have 2013 Spider and these videos make me very excited:)

    Here's a suggestion.

    Capristo Cat-back system. 6880 usd
Capristo ExhaustSystems - USA | Ferrari 458 - Twin Sound Exhaust System (Catback) - Capristo Exhausts
    +
    Capristo Remote. 650 usd.
Capristo ExhaustSystems - USA | Standard Remote Control Kit (OEM & CAPRISTO) - Capristo Exhausts
    +
    Fabspeed headers. 4995 usd
Ferrari 458 Italia Sport Headers - Fabspeed Motorsport
    +
HJS 200 Cell sports cats. 3995 usd.
Ferrari 458 Italia Sport Catalytic Converters - Fabspeed Motorsport

Not sure about prices for the IPE systems, but I'd think they are about the same.

Novitec is the most expensive of the systems mentioned in this thread. Rough numbers are things like 16000 usd for inconel headers, 12000 usd for cat back inconel system, 5000 usd for sports cats. Prices for the stainless steel version of the above mentioned system with high temp coating is roughly 8000 usd for cat back plus the aforementioned 16k headers and 5k sports cats. If you want Novitec tips for the exhaust, it's another 3k or so.

All these prices are without installation.

Thank you for the prices. I have my valves permanently open already. Of the options you listed above, what would you recommend?

    +1

I was just listening to clips last night of all the different 458 exhausts. I think the IPE is one of the better sounding ones myself.

I've been thinking about installing a full Titanium system to save weight. However, the stock exhaust actually sounds pretty good once you get used to it; plus it's not overly loud.

    Here's a suggestion :
    - Novitec steel muffler with flap. About 8,5 with wrap.
    - Novitec Test pipe. 2,7
    - Fabspeed Header. About 5 with coating.
    - Evomsit ECU. About 3.
    - Dealer installation. About 4.

    Total about 23.
