I need a scanner to do advanced tasks, not just check the trouble codes, but perform Clutch position adaption, bleed transmission fluid, operate top etc.

I have read many posts that talk about Auto Enginuity Tool, because Leonardo is too expensive.

Has anyone out there used a tool to bleed the transmission, reset clutch info, auto learn, etc?

    What tool would you recommend.

I am just too far from most Ferrari Mechanics so I need a tool I can use to maintain this car?

There has to be someone out there that has the same questions so I think this will be very useful if we get a discussion going on this.

    Thanks!

I thought I would have some kind of reply? Closest I have found is the Auto Enginuity tool, although I don't own it.

I have some ideas of making my own f1 bleeding tool that would control the transmission gears and allow some to flush it by selecting the gear with a button press from a box.

I have not found too many articles about inexpensive ways to do this. To truly bleed a transmission hydraulic system, except to by a expensive scan tool.

Anyone who has done this themselves? If I made such a tool for $300 bucks would you be interested inpurchasing it? This comes out of the necessity to maintain my F430 in perfect condition while trying my best to avoid the Ferrari tax LoL

Search the 456/550/575 section. If I recall correctly, Taz (tazandjan) bought the tool for his techs, and they are using it successfully on his 575 F1, which means it would probably do the same tasks successfully on a 430.

Just wanted to update, that I bought the Auto Enginuity Scantool. I heard a lot of good things about it on the forum and even in the Maserati forum, so I just ordered it, should be in tomorrow around 10:30am.

Looking forward to bleeding my transmission and using auto learn feature for F1 Transmission.

    Ar4me,

    Thanks for your reply.

That is very good to hear. Yes, I was struggling with trying to figure out what tool to buy, I maintain all my cars myself, it is part of the enjoyment of ownership, but I never really needed an expensive scan tool as I always found a work around until I got the F430 with the F1 Transmission. At one point I was thinking of building a unit to bleed the transmission and change the gears, I may still build this tool for others, but for now, I am looking forward to getting the AE tool and try it out. I will let you know how it goes.

They require you to buy all the Euro Software as well, so that means it will work well with my Mercedes SL63 AMG too, so I am exited about that..

There is a thread called F1 Clutch Job. (430).. There is a guy in there who has software put on to a tablet and then uses a blue tooth dongle. So far a few people have used it. I get mine next week. I can let you know how it works.. but the video on it is amazing..
