Looking for a very high quality photo printer. Almost professional even. Up to 8 by 11" would be good, but capability for larger would be better.

    Thanks,
    rob

A buddy of mine has one of these, and it will print very close to photo quality as long as you have a good digital camera, or really high resolution pictures(at very minimum 6mp - 8mp would be a good bet for the 13X19). It uses 8 ink cartridges, and is only a step down from the dye sublimation printers in my opinion, but at a more reasonable price ($500 vs $2000) that is my two cents, I am sure others might have opinions as well.

I bought this last night. I think it's exactly what I needed and not way too expensive. The 13 by 19" example they had there was of the Mercedes prototype racer that use to be in American Le Mans. I'll let you know the results.

That looks like a very nice printer! I just bought a 4800dpi, 6 color ink hp all-in-one (print/scan/fax/copy) at Costco for $200. Yours looks much nicer though.

Yes, I had to get one of those too for the print/fax/copy. Already have an old scanner and don't use too much anymore.

Please print a pic of J, and snail mail it to me, so I can verify for the rest of the board, if the printer you bought is a POS or of good quality. ;)

I have an epson R200 which I paid under $100 for. It has 6 cartridges,
and prints a full 8 / 11 page edge to edge.

I also have a 6.3mp DLSR camera, and the printed pictures come out
as good or better then I can do with a regular SLR camera. Plus I
have photoshop to fix my pictures as I see fit before I print.

Paper is also a key here. Try not go cheap. Kodac gives good results,
and generally anything sold by ritz/wolf camera is good. Wonder around
the store one day and ask for recommendations, then just buy it off
    the net.

I think 8 cartridge printers are a waste. All my pictures come out fantasitc
with my cheapo $100 printer. Probably has alot more to do with the
    camera then anything else.

I have the i850 as well. I was quite impressed with it.

I'm sure the 9900 you bought is even better.
