Yes, it's kind of risky looking down when the car is at speed, unless each of my eyes can turn towards different direction like a chameleons
Thanks TT! I have been looking for a phone mount for the FF. Just place an order on Amazon. Happy New Year! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Ordered too, thank you for the tip, real pain to find mounts for the air vents. I have a ram mount contraption in the Portofino but a bit low
I just got one of the suction window mount phone holders because I did not want to block the vents but that does look very useable. Anyone tried using the adhesive to stick a mount onto the leather dash? I thought about it but was afraid to mess up the leather.
I wld never use the leather attachment ina ferrari but i did try in a range rover and it didnt stick. I also used one on the glass and it blocks too much of the view in the ff. The vent one is the way to go for functionality and safety
You could get the kind that goes to the windshield. I tried this one in one car and unfortunately the mount doesnt fit inside the air vents (its a little too big).
Good call. It will mess up the leather. It will likely separate the leather from the dash when you remove it. I made this mistake on my Porsche.
Thanks for the tip. That‘s the solution I have been looking for. It fits nicely! Image Unavailable, Please Login Gesendet von iPad mit FerrariChat
I have been looking around for options for my 812 GTS (the interior is identical to the 812 SF). I didn't want anything on the windscreen (blocks view) or in the air vents (risk of damage to vents, plus it may interfere with heating / cooling). Instead, I installed the below today which seems to work well. It goes in the cup holder and is adjustable so can easily see phone while driving. The phone sits fairly high up so you're not looking down much. I think in terms of distraction it's pretty similar to a centrally mounted screen. The base of the holder expands to fit the cup holder. I think I will use a cloth between them to eliminate risk of the cup holder being scratched, although I'm probably being overly cautious. https://www.belkin.com/uk/support-article?articleNum=116181 Anyone else tried this option?
I just installed this on my f12 vent. Haven’t tested it with launch control or strong acceleration but the spring/clamp is quite tight. It works great w the new iPhone 12 w magnet. I used the spider malleable holder- looked ugly but worked well. Magnetic Phone Car Holder for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QF8V2SN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I think the issue is the backing sticks farther out and doesn’t butt up against the vent. The Amazon one above is shallow enough that it sits on the ledge preventing that. Of course you need the magnetic lock on iPhone 12. That seems to be why the spider type cheap mount worked so well.
None of mine do that. Sometimes i need to squeeze the handles to put the unit back in fully but there is zero side to side movement. Are you securing the ball into the holder?
Tried it under full acceleration and the pressure/rubber friction holds the phone/magnet. They do have magnet sticker you can adhere to back of the case or iPhone if the iPhone doesn’t have magnet lock like the new 12.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
