Currently available model, although definitely old school - make your choice http://us.caterhamcars.com/inventory
Image Unavailable, Please Login I recently faced this same decision. Wanted a convertible with 4 seats so that I could transport my three kids if needed in a pinch. Wasn’t interested in BMWs as I’ve had a couple and I haven’t enjoyed the recent designs. I wound up choosing an Audi RS5 convertible, which is actually currently out of production and not available in the United States. One of the big driving factors for me was also the availability of an unusual color (Nardo Gray) and light colored seats which stay cooler in intense sunlight. I actually may get even more positive comments and inquiries on this 5 year old Audi than I do on my 360 Spider!
Ditto on fga4: you can get a C7 either in convertible form or targa, brand new. for less than $60K. I have the targa and love it. Oil change takes about 25 minutes.
You could buy a nice used 2016 MBZ SL with a warranty . I’m currently DD driving a 2017 SL 63 and love it. Best , Kirk
I gotta vote the 4C. If not that, Lotus Exige Roadster, SL Roadster, 650 BMW even. Very fun options out there!
Yes, lots of these are available for around $60k. Low mileage examples as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I guess it depends on your definition of best. I just sold this. Lots of fun, you can bring along passengers, you can load a ton of stuff in the trunk, it is hybrid technology burning both gas and rubber, it actually gets more attention than my 360 if attention is what you want, parts are cheap, make people's jaw drop when you tell them the engine displacement is 7.2 litres, makes slightly more HP than a Ferrari 360, and you probably will not see another one while at local car shows or in your travels. You could have had it for half of what you are thinking of spending. Image Unavailable, Please Login
1970 Torino Gt vert. Originally 351C but I built and installed a 429 but after 7 years sold it to put towards my 360. Going to miss her but had to go after my dream.
This is my current ‘open air’ car, GTC Speed. I have to say, it was a big change from the Ferrari’s, brought on by my ill health, but a very accomplished car, very fast in a straight line and going out of a corner, just be prepared to slow going in or else you’ll spin and won’t stop till you hit the next county! For something special I would go for an Alfa 4C spider (used they are around $50k in excellent, nearly new condition. For a realistic fun car that is an excellent drive, I'll stick with my AP2 S2000... In the Ferrari world, I would go with a 348 TS, or a 328. BT
This one won’t, but I’ve seen early examples at that money. If it isn’t a ferrari or special Lamborghini, they all drop like stones after purchase!
Just Trade in My 2013 SL65 AMG FOR 52K miles for 60K and get my FF Over 800HP and 1000LBFT torque. Brand new PS4S tire, has carbon fiber steering wheel.ECU tuning Group Tuned. Caprsito Exhaust. Catless downpipe. BMC Air Filter. They might put a OEM downpipe back. By far the best thing for this price Current for sale at Eurocar if any one want it. https://ainventory.eurocaroc.com/vehicle-details/2013-mercedes-benz-sl65-amg-convertible-0fe91e6e44232d4bb02a67bf02838f6c also they have a range of SL63 that will fit with your price range. My previous owner has bought extended warranty on this vehicle. so if you know your service advisor well,You can get this car under warranty. Original Lotus Elan, or maybe a Lotus 7. End of story (IF all you want is the BEST open air car for under (WAY UNDER) $60k, without any further details.)
You should buy an Alvis. I love TD21 DHC's. I dunno why, but I just find them (and the Coupes) really pretty cars. I also love HRG's, but those tend to be north of $100K Image Unavailable, Please Login
