I always liked the Jag in the Castrol livery. My other favorites are the Lancia LC2 (Ferrari powered) and the silver Sauber Mercedes.

I think the Original Porsche 917 LongTail was very impressive looking.

I'm biased (Peugeot-wise), but the 905 makes the most sense, in that it actually looks like a road going Peugeot, you can tell from the headlights and "grille" that it is a Peugeot....the best sort of marketing you can do through a race car....

I love the closed-roof Le Mans car, Group C or GT1, and have a nice collection of 1:43s at home. I'd say my favs include the Pug listed above, the later Porsche 911 GT-1, the later 962 with the single mount wing (Joust Blaupunct car that won Daytona for instance), the first Bentley Speed 8.

Are we talking Group C cars (i.e. built under the consumption rules) or just LeMans cars in general?

Because most of what's been posted above aren't Group C cars.

Luigi Chinetti's 166 for it's sheer simplicity and stamina.

In between: the 1965 250 LM of Rindt / Gregory for being the last Ferrari to have won Le Mans (at least until today).

Pre-Group C: The 917 in Gulf colors, just BEAUTIFUL!

    Group C: Porsche 962, aweinspiring!

Post-Group C: First Bentley and the Audi R8 for having the sleekest tail-end ever on a Le Mans winning car.

This thread is about the best looking group C cars, and cars like Porsche 917 are not group C, they stop racing ten years before the group C arrived. But if you mean best looking Le Mans racers or alike, that´s right the Porsche 917 is definitely one of best. But we must not forget the Ferrari P4 and the Ford GT 40....
