Because I love looking after my cars I tried before several leather cleaners and my favorite and the one that I've been using for more than four years with very good results is the Volvo's. The kit shown in the picture is composed of a sponge, a cloth, a liquid cleaner and a cream to apply afterwards. The liquid cleaner is one of the mildest and less aggressive in the market and is poured on the sponge which is passed with circular movements on the leather surface while a foam is formed. After this operation is done half an hour is needed to completely dry the leather and the final operation consists in applying the leather cream. Volvo leather cream is not greasy, doesn't change the appearance of the leather and is very effective. The climate where I live is very sunny and rather hot at least during four months a year and in my cars leather, including my present Ferrari, I carry this operation six times a year.
At my Ferrari dealer they've asked me several times which company treated the interior of my Ferraris since they looked always pristine and my reply is always - " My secret is that I hire a specialist from Rolls-Royce which comes from England regularly on purpose to treat my cars interiors". As you can see I'm sharing that secret with you LOL.

Congrats on the car, I love the color combo! But indeed, I see what you mean when you say you are worried about getting the seats dirty... I guess blue jeans are a big no!

George, what a beauty! Ok, ferro seems to be a real F12 mainstream color :D but
    it looks great! :)

Here in Germany the colourlock leather cleaner from the Lederzentrum is first choice,
    easy to handle, perfect results.

And i use Leatherique Rejunvator oil and cleaner.

But for fresh sabbia interior, the cleaner from the Lederzentrum is just perfect.

For some reason while writing my previous post I missed the pictures of your new F12 Grigio Ferro. First my congratulations because the car looks beautiful and second welcome to the GF family.

I like the stuff from Detailing Dynamics. They are a shop in my area and I like their products because they are not too abrasive or strong. I've had excellent success over nearly 10 years using their products including leather cleaner and conditioner. I also like their wheel cleaner and tire dressing as both are safe for CCM brakes.

I think there are so many good products out there- its a matter of finding one that works for you and of course is safe for your car. I have another leather cleaner I use but I forget the name, when I am home later I will add it to the thread.

One other thing I would add is you want something that is safe for the modern treated leathers the manufacturers use these days. They treat the leather so a spill doesn't instantly stain the leather. Thats the good news. The bad news is some of the stronger old school leather cleaners- like for use on high end furniture- can strip this coating off!

    PS- gorgeous car!

Congrats on the new F12! Love the new car condition especially the interior.

Mario - I like your write-up on the Volvo product and am wondering if either the cleaner or the cream have any type of odor? I've found on DD cars the over the counter stuff smells nice but imparts an odor to the skins that differs from the true OEM smell which I find intoxicating on the Ferrari and should not be messed with.

The Volvo products I've mentioned they don't smell. The leather of my latest Ferrari which I've had since March of this year was cleaned and treated already twice using the Volvo kit but the original smell is still there.

I have regular white stitchings on my F12 racing Iroko seats (picture below) and on the top section the Ferrari Cavallino stitched on white. On the stitches I haven't noticed any change of color after having used the Volvo products twice. However when applying the cleaner and afterwards the cream, I always make sure I don't do it on top of the stitched Cavallinos just in case they could be stained.

The main thing with the cleaner is that it's MILD. Diluting any cleaner with water is not a crime.

And do not clean leather too often (obsessively), or scrub it unnecessarily. A mildly abrasive cloth covered sponge works well. It's skin, so treat it like you would treat your own skin ... gently.

What you cannot do too often is condition ... 2 to 4 a year is fine. And use the best conditioner you can find. Same as you would moisturize your face ... don't over do it and clog things up, but keep it supple.

Local humidity conditions will effect the schedule.

Mario, Many thanks for the recommendation. just used it on my F12 and my wife's GranCabrio. Very easy to use - and good value too!
