What is everyone using to mount their smartphone in their car? I use my iPhone 6s Plus for Waze and streaming Tidal Music at times so it needs to be somewhat visible while driving.

    Thanks

I use Ram Mounts in all my cars. They're pretty slick.

Attached to which vent? I use the KENU in my BMW, works great....on the Ferrari the damn vents tilt down too easily, so it wont hold my Iphone worth a damn. Just flops around. Could you post a picture?? ;)

I ended up buying a suction cup gooseneck contraption from BestBuy and stuck it to the CF console in my Scud....not pretty but works.

I have Kenu on my BMW as well and it works great. I had the same issue like you on the scuderia's vent but I managed to make it work. What you need to do is to tilt the vent all the way down first before you mount the bracket. Then mount the bracket on the lower part of the vent and you should be fine.

I actually also have been using the Kenu airframe and have been having the exact problem with it flopping around too much. i will try your method!

ya, the kenu is great on the rectangular air vents, but sucks monkey balls on the circular 430/Scuderia vents. on-track my phone w kenu has flown off and hit me in my helmet before but thankfully didn't fly out the window. lol.

Will give that I try when I get my Scud back next week (hopefully). Dealer sent the CF headlights to Premier for cleaning.... ;)

Agreed on the Kenu mount. It works great in my truck, but in my 16M when attached to the vent, it just flops down. I did pull the vent all the way down and then mounted the phone so the volume buttons were just above the Kenu which worked OK, but it's not great and certainly isn't track-stable.

Me 3.. easy to switch between cars, I doubt there is a steadier/sturdier mount available anywhere. Downside is it is big and Fugly when no phone suspended in it... but I use Waze (and a V1) ALL the time now to keep my driving record clean.

Yeah, that's the one I'm using as well. Plus, I use the self leveling cup holder in my truck.

I use the Breffo vent mount. You can get it to work well in a 430 vent for street driving and it's very unobtrusive looking however I doubt it wold be acceptable for track use.

Sometimes it's nice to get directions from your phone when you don't know where you're going. Also, some of use lap timer apps at the track.

I stick it to the windshield behind the rearview mirror. That way, part of the apparatus is hidden from view and it's as if the phone is attached to the mirror.

Okay, thank you. I'm trying to find something for the vent or dash, as I am using the lightning cord to sync with the in dash Becker (for both charging and music). Want to avoid the cord in my view.

This is the cord...swapped from the original 30 pin Iphone cord

I built my own mounting bracket and used a ProClip specific to my phone. The next step is to route the wire inside the dash. But that has not been a priority.

Everything is fully reversible without showing any signs of ever having been there.

Time to conceive the solution? I gave up counting the hours.

Time to buy different materials and try out solutions? ditto.

Time for install and removal is 4 minutes each.

It is 100% solid. There is Zero wiggle under any load or higher Gs in turns.

The Breffo mount looks interesting as well! I might give that a try! Not sure why you would need to mount your phone for track use but I may be missing something here as I do not track my car!
