Gentlemen, I am on my way to pick up my very first 360 Spider this weekend. I have done way too much research on this forum looking at the various exhausts available. What is everyone's opinion on the best sounding high-pitched F1-style exhaust? Novitech, Kreissieg, X-Host, Tubi, etc? I sincerely appreciate it. Mike.
I have Larini test pipes and Tubi. Closest thing to F1 cars you'll hear. After 5k rpm, there is this amazing screaming sound that is indescribable.
search www.youtube.com for "ferrari 360 tubi" and you can find a bunch of videos, including some I have uploaded of my car. There are also plenty of good posts on this board covering the subject. I have a tubi and hyper flow cats in my car and have yet to hear a 360 I like better. Ray

sounds good... I'll have to get some videos of my car from the outside. Here are some from the inside: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0erb2DvjVY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K5QVSwHkiE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHAez-8P060 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWM3gz7uRI8 I just ordered an in-car camera mount, so I will be doing some better videos soon. But getting one from outside the car might be fun.. like a drive by. The one above from outside is "okay", but it didn't really capture the sound of the car. I don't think the mic on the camera was all that great, because the car sounds louder in person. This isn't my car.. but this is the best one I've heard on film I think: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6341025921404689288 Ray
Ray's car sounds good, but if you are looking for high pitch F-1? dunno guys, but the Kreissieg sounds preaty rediculous..http://www.kreissieg-usa.com/index.php?page=model&brid=1&mid=5&cid=14&oid=15&typ=f but the price I feel is a bit out there.
Thank you for your responses, I know it is a very generic and "exhausted" topic, but even after all my thread searching, I wasn't positive about what y'all felt the most F1-style exhaust was. There was more a discussion about overall loudness and resonance / droning, less about the specific harmonics. I seem to be leaning towards the Novitech and the Kreisseig, only because from my research it sounds like the Capristo Lvl 3 is so loud that it becomes obnoxious after a spell. I would love to have someone try and convince me otherwise... videos always help. Any clips of the mentioned exhausts would be beautiful. Thanks!
You ask for a high-pitched F1 sound and the Capristo3 is too loud? I've never heard a high-pitched F1 car that was mellow G
Hey, I said convince me otherwise. Please? Is there a link to a good clear clip of the Capristo Lvl 3? I'm just afraid of low RPM resonance; the top end can be as loud as it wants baby!
From what you just described, it sounds as though the Capristo "Twin Sound" is for you. Quieter than stock yet, when you nail it, louder than Level 3. Personally, I think the Kriesseg blows them all away by a mile, but nine grand? I'll keep the Cap 2.
Went all out with my Tubi next to a Capristo Level 3 (Cig1's car). The Capristo sounded much better than my Tubi! Of course, I've never heard the Tubi from outside at full throttle. The Capristo was extremely loud. I have Larini cats but have yet to install them. I guess we'll see how much that changes the sound.
I have a serious question now: Is the valve mechanism on the Capristo Twin and the Kreisseig basically the same? So when the valve is all the way open, it is bypassing the muffler completely? How does this raw, unmuffled exhaust noise sound? Would I get better F1-style harmonics out of a valveless exhaust such as the Capristo Lvl 3 or the Novitech or the X-Host? Again, does the Kreisseig just bypass it's $7k muffler when you have used the remote to open it up / make it louder?
my tubi with the hyper flow cats has a little resonance around 2800 to 3000 RPM's, but then it goes away. It's rarely a problem and it's not very loud. As far as that F1 sound, if you really want it in spades, get a 355 and slap a tubi on it. My 355 with the tubi had that F1 scream through tunnels, etc. The 360 is simply a deeper exhaust note - perhaps due to the different motor and/or headers or something. I don't know if you can ever get that complete F1 scream in a 360 that you can get with a 355. BTW, if you are worried about the exhaust being loud at the low end, one option is to simply keep the stock tips (and valves). That will keep the car quiet at lower RPM's and open the exhaust up when you put your foot into it. The Kreis-sieg exhaust sounds great, but I don't have any first hand experience with it. I considered getting it for my 360, but wasn't thrilled with the valve stuff or having to wire up a switch to open/close things. However, if the sound clips from the website are any indication, I would say the Kreis-sieg is the most F1 sounding setup going on the 360. The only question is whether you have to go with the total cat back system to obtain that? Ray
Yeah, it just seems like I am missing something with the Kreisseig. From the clips it does sound the best, but with the valves totally open I thought it was bypassing the muffler and tips, so that awesome sound is just the pure, unrefined noise of the 360? Grrrr, this is confusing. I'm calling Ferrari of Costa Mesa / Irvine and getting Michael's opinion. Maybe he has some cars there with exhausts as well.
I have heard the Kreisseig and is scary loud but really expensive maybe the best , Tubi is nice and everything but not loud at all. I have a Capristo level 3 and is really loud on low RPMS then starts to catch to the engine sound and is really nice. Loud for long drives and unconfortable but not as loud as the Kreisseig , that one will make a little kid cry. You have to listen to them in person , that makes the difference. internet videos are worthless they just dont capture the real sound of any exhaust.
