Best Ferrari video game

Don't know about the situation with the X-Box, but on the PC, sim racing specialist Blimey ( www.blimeygames.com ) is developing *the* official Ferrari simulation. The games (or rather simulations) they did up to now, GTR, GT Legends, GTR2 are all top notch and provide the most realistic driving experience you can have today on your computer. So it's very likely that 'Ferrari project' will be a blast, no release date yet, but you should keep it in mind!

 

Not sure about console games, but a friend of mine bought a F355 Challenge arcade game for his house and it's great!

To answer your question:
- Best Ferrari game for the XBox is Forza.
- Best Ferrari game for the XBox360 is Forza 2.
- Best Ferrari console game: Lancia Stratos in GT4 on PS2 or 599 in GT4 HD Concept on PS3
- Best Ferrari simulation however has several candidates. All of them for the PC: GTR, GTR II, GPL, F1, GP4 and P4 add-on for NASCAR 2000. Depends on what type of Ferrari you want to drive.

 

well i agree 355 challenge is a beast! I paid like 20 bucks to play that at an arcade... only time going to the arcade was worth it... anyways he is looking for something for his xbox, but is it just a regular xbox or an xbox 360


for 360 I would said test drive unlimited is great if you like to play, or if you are just looking to pick it up once in a while project gotham 3 would be your best bet.

for regular just go project gotham racing 2

 

I have the two player dual arcade game 355 Challenge. It's a lot of fun and the nephews enjoy it........

 

Not to take away from your suggestions, but at least the arcade game, F355 Challenge would have to qualify. A lot of R&D with Ferrari went into this game.

What OS are we talking here?

I had it once for my Dreamcast (?) console. It was utter rubbish. The sim for the arcade places was very good indeed because Ferrari did work with the developers as some mentioned. I still have an article about it. But all the good stuff of the pro version was lost on the console. Only good thing left was the ability to drive Fiorano, which inspired me ultimately to develop that track for GP3.

 

I realize most of you have much more experience with this than me, but I have GTR on the PC. I also have an nice in-car video from a Stradale lapping at Magny-Cours. The amazing thing is running them one after another. The sights and sounds are mind-blowingly similar. I have also found that lap times are realistic too, so I can put myself up against other drivers and see how bad I am.

Unfortunately my PC is a bit old, so it cannot handle on-line play well. I will be looking for a new system in few months, so any suggestions are appreciated!

 

I really grooved on this game for quite a while. You get a variety of F-cars throughout the classes available: from the Dino thru 360 (Spider & Modena), F40 & F50, 550, CS, and the Enzo. Now I'm putting pennies in the piggy bank for a 360 (X-box and F-car ), and PGR3.

 

SCGT is a classic!

I'll agree with test drive unlimited. Pretty fun game and has several F cars to try (if you have the $$$ to get them).

Uh, oh, I need to look into that then.

I remember F355 Challenge on Dreamcast because I HATED it so much: It was a sensation in the Arcade and just painfully bad on Dreamcast. They completely destroyed it, yet claimed "code was ported 1:1". Yeah right.

 

I would LOVE to pick up one of those challange arcade games. I would learn to drift in it . They are so expensive at arcardes so I plan on buying one soon.

 

THE BEST EVER IS TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED fir Xbox360...

it just projects you to the real Ferrari owners world! you go to garages, buy cars, go around, buy a house to put the cars!! it's really great!

Certainly not the most realistic, but to me the "best" video game featuring a Ferrari has to be the original Outrun.

I may just have to pick up Forza 2 though.

 

The arcade game, F355 Challenge, is the best way to spend $1 and 5 minutes of your life. Unlike all the others, it is extremely realistic, has paddle shifters, and is a Ferrari. It is the greatest video game I have ever played.
