Replaces the factory rear muffler with a lightweight valved high-performance exhaust system for increased performance and adjustable sports car sound.

We had a customer request an even more aggressive sound from his Maxflo Exhaust System with the ability to quiet it back down at the press of a button. It sounded like a great idea, and it sounded even better once it hit the streets. Now we'd like to offer it you. Our Valvetronic Exhaust System offers the same sophisticated tone that our Maxflo systems are known for with valve closed, but once it's open you'll unleash the full unmuffled roar of the 328's 3.2L heart. Two fantastic tones in one exhaust.

Some reason it won't fit an 86 328?

In the recording its too loud. Sports cars can sound good without being loud. Keep my stock muffler, thanks.

    I don't think this will fit a 308 QV.

My life around race cars and guns and the associated hearing loss have made me appreciate quiet but nice sounding cars.
But mostly my loud cars taught me that if I drive a quiet car I can drive like a wild man and the police 5 blocks away don't drop what they are doing and go hunting for me.

Yeah, I changed to louder mufflers on many of my performance cars through the years...and changed them back to stock at some point. The last time I did that was on a Porsche 911 a few years ago. I bought Fabspeed mufflers and within a few months put the OEMs back on/sold the Fabspeeeds. They were excellent quality but the "cool sound" wore off quickly in the daily 50 mile commute to/from work. Since I had had the same experience over the years with many cars, one would think I had learned my lesson prior to the 911 but I admit I initially liked the sound of the aftermarket muffs on the Porsche. BUT I did learn it finally and did NOT repeat it with the 328.

Heck, when I purchased my 328 in '08 and, two days after purchase, drove it across the USA to its new home, I found the stock exhaust to be uncomfortably loud when spending 12-14 hours in the car on the Interstate so I wore noise cancelling headphones! On another, similar cross-country trip I did the same. In 2018, when we moved (again across country) to another new home, I didn't wear the headphones but I was driving the 328 while my wife was driving a large rental moving van so the cruising speed was considerably slower (quieter). Funnily enough, my wife thoroughly enjoyed being a "truck driver" for three days! ;)

Just thought I'd add this...years of working on performance cars/engines and lots of dyno testing revealed that installing loud mufflers typically do not add any power. We tested one particular aftermarket "performance" muffler that you could look straight though the unobstructed tube and found it produced seven HP LESS than the "restrictive" (per the aftermarket muff ads) stock mufflers that came on the car.

Was that video made with the factory cat, or Fabspeed's cat bypass installed along with the muffler?

I couldn't agree more. I have a Tubi set up on my 328 and I absolutely hate it.
