I tried doing a search with no luck.

Is there a trick to getting the Becker 6 CD changer --CD holder to open? I press the button with the car running (and tried it off), but there is no action from the CD holder box to pop up and open. Has anyone had this problem? Is it a fuse? Am I missing something? I press the grey button with the arrow on it every which direction with no response.

    (on a 2003 360)

    thanks, Kevin.

I haven't changed the CD's in mine in a while, but as far as I recall, you just slide the door open and press the button or box or something.

Ray, thanks for responding, but my question is, what do you do when you press the button and get no response. The box does not open.
    Best, Kevin.

If its like a normal cd changer---you slide open the box, then push the button for the pack to pop out...

I AM pressing the button. There is absolutely no response. Do you know where the fuse is for the CD changer? 2003 360

    Kevin,

If the radio working, then it's not a fuse, as the CD gets its power from the radio plug.

It sounds like a CD has not fully retracted.

I would encourage the system to change CD's. Do it with the engine off but just with the key on.

Have someone do it inside the car so you can be near the trunk to hear the CD movement.

If it's not changing CD's, then it could be that the unit is bad or a CD is pretty well jammed. Don't force it.

The panel on the left side of the trunk has to come off to get to the changer which should be a pretty easy removal.

the radio is functioning fine including the single CD player behind the removable faceplate, but it is not recognizing at all the 6 CD player. Is there a radio plug that could have come out from the back of the 6 CD player?

    thanks, Kevin.

Remember your post about what those items were? Keys to remove the radio?

It's possible the radio was removed and the plug was not firmly pushed in prior to reinstallation.

There's a small horizontal slot at each side on the bottom of the radio. Push one key into each simultaneously and the radio will loosen and pull forward. You'll have to play with the correct direction. I can't remember.

They push against a spring loaded clip which when depressed allows the radio to pull forward.

As you carefully pull the radio out you'll see a 3 color plug assembly (yellow, blue, and green) at the upper left as you look at the front of the radio.

Make sure they are all firmly seated.

Sometimes pulling out the radio pulls the power plug on it and it has to be reseated. So, you'll also have to reinitialize the radio code if this happens.

Have that 4 digit code handy.

If you push them all in and nothing goes, there's a prob with the changer. You can test the unit before you reseat the radio.

I have a 2005 360 spider and I've now replaced the cd changer 3 times. Exactly the problem you describe. The changer will run through the discs once and then suddenly won't load a disc and you can't eject the disc cartridge. The dealer has had to disassemble the changer to get my discs out and has replaced the changer twice and the cartridge once. I now have the same problem for the 4th time and will be bringing it in for yearly service this week. I've had it and will demand that they provide a differrent system. Anyone else having this problem and does the 430 and 612 have the same system as the 360?

Had one in my old 911 and it gave me similar problem about once a year over several years. the dealer would fix it each time but claimed unit couldn't be permanently repaired. He told me to buy anew one.Ijust let it go.

The best way is to remove that POS from the car, remove the CD's with a hammer and chisel and go buy a good one.

Ferrari went from years of no radios in the US at all to installing junk.

I can understand why Mercedes uses them but Ferrari would be better off getting components from the flea market.

    Hi,

I have a 2008 F430, it did not come with a CD changer from factory. I want to add the original CD changer to the already existing Ferrari radio.
The question is, do the F430 comes pre wired from factory for the 6 CD changer "plug and play"?

CD's are so last century !

You might find it easier to install a bluetooth adapter or even just a phono or Apple wire into the cd wire socket - fairly sure the cd changer wiring is not standard

Lots of threads about the various options in the 360/430 section

Becker US (beckerautosound.com)has a plug in bluetooth adapter that operates instead of the CD changer....uses the changer plug I think. About 80 bucks. There are some "overseas" imitations for about 25 on Ebay......I have one on order.

I still use CD's as well. I am currently working on getting the factory (dealer?) correct changer in my 92 400E.

They just sound better to me.

Same thing happened in my 2003 GTA. I ended up tossing it and got a Bluetooth enabled stock head unit.
