I would think that a "stock" Lusso would be prized more than a modified one.

But if you into driving it and not exhibiting it then why not go for this? The stock Lusso was not as powerful as the SWB or other early 60s Ferrari road/race cars. A 4.0 upgrade may make it more fun driver.

Just my opinion - I am no expert!

PS- Hope you are not planning to sell your exquisite CS!

According to my files this is s/n 4519 GT. I saw it with this registration during the FF40 festivities in Brussels in 1992, entered by Hoyle and already sporting those GTO style louvres behind the rear wheels.

I agree that a "stock" car is worth more than a modified one

I'm slightly confused by the claim "Finished in red with beige trim, this unique car retains its original engine enlarged to 4 litres by renowned Ferrari specialist Terry Hoyle."

To my eye this looks like a replacement tipo 209 (judging by throttle linkage, water hose end piece between cam chain covers, oil fillers etc.) and should not be described as an original engine.

    Best wishes, Kare

Is it true that a Lusso drives like a truck compared to a 275 GTB?

The engine looks like a 209. I'd take it.

I find this particular car superb. It has the aggressivity a Lusso lacks while still retaining the classy lusso design. This car would be perfect for the Tour Auto !

The CS is a keeper :)

you can't compare them because the GTB uses a transaxle so weight distribution is better

Lusso and GTB are very different cars, indeed. While the Lusso is nose-heavy and the GTB is better balanced, I prefer the Lusso for every-day driving as the throttle is very light and the box very smooth, whereas the GTB box is somewhat notchy. Oh well, can't afford either one now anyway.

Agree Ed. The GTB has such voluptuous lines, but to me, the transition from the Lusso to the GTB also seems to surrender Enzo to cost cutting and austerity. There is more plastic instead of plated bezels in the latter, more vinyl instead of leather, cast wheels instead of wire wheels, stamped sheet metal suspension members vs. forged steel, hydraulic clutch, etc.

It’s hard to beat the taste of a rigid axle Ferrari road car.

Nice car, but I'd think the Lusso lines would be better in a more subdued color.

Any other opinions on the external paint color?
