    Hey all,

    I found a set of 16" BBS RS wheels in a 5X120 ET11 offset. Will these work on my '75 308 GT4?

I'd like to take the Cromodoras off and put the original XWXs back on those for show purposes and run the RS wheels regularly.

    Cheers!

I researched this high and low---gonna cost a lot to get new wheels.

I would up designing a spacer system to allow me to use mustang and 350z wheels on my 308--now i can buy wheels all day long for 200 each

Mind sharing those details, or at least a picture so the rest of us can have more options available to us! Thanks.

    Of the spacer that is.

if there is suffucient interest--i'll start making them

a set of the spacers and 1 set of wheels would run about 1500-1600 plus shipping

Does that include the tires? Or you're saying you want $800 for the spacers and bolts?

the wheels are about 225 each with shipping and it takes me 4 hours each to machine the spacers so I am asking 175 each for them plus bolts and studs which are about 150 set---so 1600 is right on it...

I am NOT in business to do this..I do these projects for my own cars and if anyone wants parts, i'll make them , but I am not going to set up to mass produce them.

    Charles,

Didn't mean to offend, sometimes it's hard to display sarcasm in text.

If you got enough interest, it may be in your best interest to have a shop set up to machine stuff make them for you. They could likley make 20-spacers much faster than you could and it would cost you less time. You could still mark them up some and come out will some extra $$ for much less effort on your part.

When it's all said and done, is it a bolt on wheel, or lug wheel (which would be much nicer IMO) and does it have the same hubcentric set up the current cars do? What wheels are those and where did you get them?

    thanks

Check BBS RS fitment for Volvo at tirerack.com,
    then use with appropriate spacers.

Ok, i feel i have to say this... i HIGHLY dislike spacers. They compromise the integrity of the connection, putting higher stress on the bolts as well. In fact many race tracks do not allow the use of spacers (and for good reason!!!).

But i guess if you are just a tooling around town in the Ferrari kinda guy... (Nomex suit on)

308 guys just don't have a lot of choices otherwise. (One lucky thing for ABS hub 328ers :))

BTW I know Paul Sloan has spacers on his 308 track car and has had no issues.

Charles, I LOVE those wheels. Who makes them?

Hmm, there is Kinesis, HRE, Fchat sponsor Nick Forza...

And glad he has not. Just that spacers, to me, is like using a band aid and the LAST PLACE i want to rig something up (yes RIG is perhaps too severe a word) is where the tires meet the car. The forces on the car in that location are not to be rigged IMHO. Perhaps i am overly retentive.

The other factor is that if race tracks/organizations do not allow them, there is probably a good reason for it. Word has it HRE rims are not allows in one sanctioned race league due to their lack of reliability.

Interesting. Yea but that is only 2 compared with at least 10x the options if you do go with spacers. Also, I think MK E has them on his turboed 308.

Also, I think Ferrari did OE spacers on at least some 348s (as a stop gap between the rear hub/wheel changes late in the production run to correct the cars at-the-limit handling issues.) Not sure 100% about that, as I don't really focus much on 348 material.

All that said, I only use spacers when I have no choice.

The wheels from Nick come with Hubcentric spacers and longer bolts.

I am in complete agreement with you.
IMHO, wheels should have the proper offset built in.
But since they were looking at a "makeshift" rig,
I was just giving an option that that used the same bolt pattern as Ferrari.

No one has mentioned the remanufactured quattrovalve or 328 wheels by Superformance.
