Since when did this thread go from Alice's to 969Motorsports? Please make a thread of your own if you have different ideas. Frankly, there don't seem to be too many exotics on that list. Also, where/when are the "other" F-car drives? I didn't see any post about that this weekend.

No, your right. That aren't that many exotics on this list. Go to Alice early tomorrow and get a good seat. Maybe you'll be lucky to see the cars go by ;) Enjoy your coffee and breakfast. If you like, you can hop on the band wagon :) The destination will be a real "Crystal Cove". Hehe.

This is not so much about 969Motorsports as it is about dozens of Bay Area car enthusiasts who like to see all kinds of cars hangout, not just one make. 969Motorsports is proud to make it happen.

Nice group of cars you got there. I must give you props for that. So from what you say we'll be doing Skyline? That's awesome. However, can you PM me your destination? Also, would you mind if I was in the front group for the drive--perhaps even lead but I'm open for others leading as well. Since there seem to be ~75 cars, how do we make sure people don't showboat/race etc.? Anyway, I will come to the meet. How do I get there without taking 101 from Palo Alto? Please let me know ASAP. I'm looking forward to the meet.

For those who would like a more "spirited" drive with fewer cars, lets get together for a drive.

Bassha, it is more cars that we had expected or even wanted. We'll divide the cars into smaller more manageable groups, based on how "spirited" the drivers are :) Come by and the detail route and detailed info will be passed out. Usually don't like to announce the route on forums. I've said too much already. What car are you bringing?

I was there at the gathering. Good turnout, a lot of Porsches & BMW's. Of the F's, there was at least my CS, a red 360 Coupe, two red TR's and a black 308 GTS. Also a Gallardo, couple of Vipers, couple of Loti, etc. Probably 50-60 cars? Destination was Princeton Marina via 35, 84, 1. Unfortunately just before the drive started, I got a call from my daughter, she got into an accident on Hwy9 :-(, fortunately no injuries, but a dented rear quarter. But I had to bail to help her out and check that she was OK.

ylshih, very glad to hear your daughter is okay. I too had an incident on hwy 9 a few years back. It can be a tricky route if not careful. Thanks for coming out and grace our parking lot with your beautiful CS ;)

It was great to see the other beautiful redheads, a black 308, and the gallardo to come on the drive too. Too bad the skyline ridge was shrouded in heavy mist this morning, but that's the bay area, every drive is different :)

Yes, the route was from 969 in san carlos, up 101 north to 92-west, then to 35 south, east on 84, and north on One all the way to the Pillar Harbor marina parking lot in Princeton-by-the-sea. The parking lot was more filled today than last week, but there was still enough room to hold all the cars that arrived. After the gathering at the marina, several groups of people went to the restaurants down the street for lunch. The Half Moon Bay Brewery, a few steps away, is always a good choice.

I want to thank everyone on this board that showed up. It was a great event for us enthusiasts in the bay area. It's always wonderful to see different mixes of cars, and see how they compare on the road.

The friends of 969 will continue to organize these meets hopefully on a monthly basis. We may alternate between a meet-only-n-bbq and a meet-n-drive. So for those of you who couldn't make it this time please be sure there will be a next time and many times after that.

    Collin

This is why the event was fun! Not because of the cars...but the people!

    Thanks everyone!!!

The elises are way cool. I consider them to be a no-compromise sports car, which means a very compromised normal car to the rest of us :D

Do you mind if I ask for a ride next time? :)

I was not buying it as an all-around sports car but rather for actuall sport competition (autocross) and weekend fun drives. It suites that purpose 100% and better.

However, we happened to make a 2300 mile trip to Seattle and back and I realised it's not bad for that kind of use too. The ride is comfortable enough and luggage space is adequate. After some practice entrance/exit does not take much longer than "normal" car even with hardtop on (I took it off for summer time). Many others use Elise as daily driver too.

Sure, I don't mind at all. I remember now some one (Dark Red M3 owner I think) asked me for a ride then but when we got back from lunch that car was gone.

apkom, were you in my "slow" group, or were you in the "fast" group?
How did the car stack up against the big boys? Your car probably handled the twisties better than anyone else can.
