    Marcel Breuer chairs, nice.

To OP, are you looking for vintage or new production?

    Regards,

funnily enough, i was looking precisely for marcel breurer, specifically desks from the S285 series. i would love some vintage pieces but i find the prices prohibitive here, so i would gladly buy some good repros - i actually need to use them for their intended purposes !

i have been looking at sites like 1st dibs, but if you have others to suggest please tell me.

Btw, the wassily is actually more comfortable than it looks. They are made by Knoll but it looks like there are several places to buy them.

Google wassily chair and you see several places where they are for sale.

get 'em while you can......repops that is....
good push currently to smack down the repros (ala our Modena friends)

My problem with originals is that everything I find used/vintage, is so "used & abused" I'm seldom willing to pay the ask because of the restoration required. Just spent $1K on new leather and $350 on plastic shell repairs for a Pollock chair, after paying $350 for the piece. Could nearly have bought a new one....

    Ross,

I don't know Houston or to what extent you are willing to go. There are plenty of auctions in the US and finding the right piece isn't too hard, but there are headaches and risks. The no brainer approach is to buy new. If you buy a knock-off, examine the piece for quality.

    Good luck!

    Art S.

PS. I have a thing for Kjaerholm and Nakashima
