Cool story on this little bike I just rescued...

    1972 Yamaha G7S (80cc 2-stroke) Street Scrambler

A lady purchased the bike new in 1972 and used it for commuting from Summit Point, West Virginia to Dulles Airport in Virginia. 50 miles each way!
After one year (2k miles), the bike was put in a barn in 1973 and there it sat for 44 years until August 2017.

I was tipped off about the bike and went to see it way out on a farm in the country.
The older gentleman told me the owner had passed away a long time ago and there was no title or key for the bike.
After inspecting the bike and confirming the engine wasn't seized I decided to buy it.

She's a real beauty! The original Candy Green paint is amazing and it has the Dulles Airport parking sticker from 1973 still attached.
It even has the factory blue plastic still wrapping all the polished engine bits!

So far I've done the following things to the bike:
    -Installed clubman cafe racer handlebars
    -Replaced broken brake lever
-Installed new hybrid dirt/street tires and tubes
-Installed new ignition switch (with 2 keys)
    -Lubed the chain
-Replaced missing turn signal bulb and lens
    -Installed new 6v battery
-Replaced owner's manual and tool kit

Last night I turned on the electronics for the first time in 44 years. I got everything working except the headlight, but I'll get that sorted this week.

Before I try kick starting the engine I need to do the following:
-Remove gas tank and have it cleaned and relined because it's rusty inside
-New Fuel petcock and fuel lines
    -New Spark plug
    -New engine and gearbox oil

Regarding the title, I'm in the process of claiming the bike as an abandoned vehicle and should be able to title it in about 30 days.
Yamaha only made about 6000 of these bikes so it's pretty rare and a real charm to look at and sit on.
    Can't wait to ride it!
