Should be another good morning tomorrow... :)
Autozone was just starting to pipe down, when out of nowhere, a brilliant 1964 2nd place winner of the Targa Florio rips down Woodward Ave... once driven by Herbert Linge, and Gianni Balzarini to that 2nd place finish. This is only my second viewing of a Porsche 904 Carrera GTS Amazing! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And note the Permagrin on the guys face in the 1st picture! What a GORGEOUS car. Thanks for sharing. JIM
the noise it made was nice, it did come out of nowhere so this is all I got. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KR2ifT_3Jek
I took some video of it on my way home. You can hear the exhaust note for about ten seconds before the wind noise kicks in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LvSsuirRj4 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Anyone going to AutoZone tomarrow morning? I hear the weather is supposed to be pretty good, I'll probably be there. Chris
There was a pretty good turn out Saturday. A really nice Ferrari 308QV and Black/Red Mondial. Loved the Exige too. I left too early to see the Camaro with the ZR-1 engine leave. Can anyone give any details on it? Who did the work? What is the name of it? I saw it had ZR-1 rims and brakes along with the engine. I thought I overheard the owner say something about he had the "first of three." Not positive, but what a hell of a car. I bet it sounded awesome too. Chris
It's funny how many cars you can see go by AutoZone that never actually stop. Woodward Avenue is a great place for cars of all kinds. Saturday at AutoZone I saw an Audi R8, Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet, 2010 Camaro SS, Acura NSX, Dodge Challenger SRT8, Plymouth Prowler, etc. Chris
I don't recall the builder's name off the top of my head (I was introduced) but I do know that the car was built for a customer that has bought multiple cars from the same builder, so it's headed out after a few bugs get worked out. (That may be the '3rd' reference) The crate ZR-1 motor was the first unit GM ever sold. There are 20 months of work into the build. He does build to order, but time may be a problem, I'd be glad to follow up an get you the name if you want to pursue it.

It's like a bad joke. I have made the past 5 or 6 and couldnt go this morning. Look what I get! Chris
Is AutoZone still on tomarrow? Tomarrow is the first time I can make it in awhile. If it is on, do you think a decent turn-out will happen? Thanks! Chris
I might make it...'73 BMW 3.0CS is now ready....how come you and isaac have the same aviator..........LOL...........MO
Hey mo, how are you?? I'm in TC/ Charlevoix right now... interesting story; maybe more "successful" Sunday LOL Yes, AZ is going on tomorrow. The most interesting person may leave once the F50 in KY's story is told

Great pictures James. I really wish I knew what some of you looked like so I could introduce myself sometime. You seem like a really great and dedicated group of guys. The turn-out decent. Those clouds made it a bit chilly though. The Grigio Silverstone/Cocoa Ferrari 612 Scaglietti was drop-dead gorgeous. I really like what the owner of the V8 Vantage thats always there did to his car. The flat-black rims and carbon-fibre spoiler look wonderful. I'm really bummed I missed that F430 Spider. Although when I left, I took a drive though downtown Birmingham and found a Rosso Corsa/Tan Ferrari F430 Coupe on the main-street. Can anyone tell me when AutoZone starts back up? I've heard the weather is supposed to be nice this weekend. Too early? Thanks! Chris
