Never heard of the place..........but this kind of text from their online ad for the car makes me cringe........."OBVIOUSLY, ONLY AT LEADING EDGE, OUR VEHICLES ARE TRADE-INS AT LOCAL NEW CAR DEALERS. EACH ONE IS HAND PICKED AND APPROVED BY THE LEADING EDGE SALES TEAM."

Ask him to show you the bill of sale from FoO (or some other place) to LEMC...........heh. I bet you he starts doing the olympic backstroke.

Go look at it and then get a PPI done by Tbakowsky, Newman or Rocco's shop. It is cheap enough that you can spend $10K on it to make it right, if the basic thing is "somewhat" sound. At least it has got carbs.

Remember though, it is a 30 year old Italian car, built by communist labor union workers who hated your guts because you had the means to afford it when it was new. Don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed.

I know Lee and he's a good guy. I've done a bit of biz with him in the past and see him every week at the auction. I also saw this car at the hi-line sale which went unsold. Which means nothing because alot of cars didnt sell.. That's not a place where with this old car can be appreciated anyway.

The car looks decent. I inspected the car breifly and took pics. The spare tire was missing at the time. I have spoken to Lee a few times casually as I possibly had someone for the car. They are not a dealer that really knows and services these cars. The car was sitting for a few years.

But at that price I aint sure why it's still there. It really didnt look that bad. Will definetly need some work. But what do yu oexpect for 25G's?

Based on Vascos eyeball description, which I believe to be true. I don't think it is a steal but definitely a fair price. Just remember cheap and Ferrari are mutually exclusive, but I think this car is worth that if its a runner with a relatively sound body.

Vasco....awesome....i was hoping someone had looked at the car in person.

If you know Lee....could i ask you a huge, huge favor....i need to know some details and i would like a phone conversation....i have an email in to them but nothing so far....can you see if he has any history and service records.....if he has them i will go see the car...and maybe see what happens.

seems to me that it may be too cheap for serious buyers....makes it seem like a POS....mvl has a 328 with the same concerns.....underpriced imho.

    a driver for that price....maybe spend 5+grand on a refresh.....not a bad deal.

    Thanks alot fella's

I'd be on that car like a fly on sh$t. I'v never seen a 308 retail for 25g's unless it has some stories and judging by what Vasco said it may be worth looking at. If I were you I'd move quickly or you'll be regretting it when someone else picks it up for even less than $24K. If I had the space it would already be in my driveway.
With the current economic state and the winter season upon us you will be in the drivers seat on this one so have it looked at and if all is well make an offer. I believe this series car may be one of the least expensive to maintain, correct me if I'm wrong and a perfect entry level Ferrari. Just enough to get your feet wet and have a little fun.

From my experience it makes no difference who is selling the car but what history it has and it condition will hold more weight. The fact that a "used car dealer" has it only means that like it was stated, it may have been traded into a F-dealer or the like and because of it's high mileage and possible less than perfect condition they were not prepared to sink anything into it to bring it back to new condition then hold onto it for a year and potentially not recover costs.
I bought my TR from A GM dealer and it is one of the most perfect cars my mechanic had ever seen. Who would think of buying an F-car from a GM dealer right? Too many pre-madonnas out there that would never lower themselves to doing such a thing but it was a gem with all the documented history and previously owned by a highly respected local f-chatter.
I guess if 24K is too low then wait until FoO has one for $50ish, no hold on I can direct you to a guy who is trying to get $60 for his with new seats and shinny paint. PM me and I'll put you in contact with him. (Not intended to be offensive to anyone unless you are a pre-madonna)

As Ed said. It was just an eyeball. I have no idea of the mechanics and body underneath. It's just that I've seen worse 308's for $40G's+! This car was decent. Big_Red has always preached, a cheap car is cheap for a reason. And like I messaged Mr. Tracy assume the car is a project car at that price.

As Rob stated, it's possible to get odd cars at odd dealerships. Sometimes they just want it out for whatever reason. Personally, i'd have someone check it. Then go from there. It's just like anything else.

Personally, i'd be on it. First thing to go would be the cheasy scuderia stickers he put on the seats and sides

Here are some crappy iphone pics while it was at the auction.

Here's a description from a "freinds" website in the states:

    1980 308 GTSi red/tan

    32095 miles

Great running, beautiful looking, lots of fun to drive.
A Classic car that gets looks wherever you drive.
Books, tools, and strong service history
And from the pics it shows much much nicer then the car here you were looking at, spare tire, toolkit, much much nicer interior.(my comments)

    Asking $31,900 u.s

Paul, welcome aboard. Dont feel bad that this car sold...as Vasco mentioned...he only looked at it physically. Unless you see 5 308 together and spend time with them, you will never really see a difference. Dont rush into buying any of these cars, takeyou time. You mentin 308, and then 360....you can get a pefect 308 for the same money on a so so 360. The difference ? One of them will give you nothing but HEARTBURN.

Take your time, and buy the best car you can afford...the last thing you need is to spend 50K thinking you got the best deal in town, and then dumping 30K to make it right. Not sure where you got 5K to make it right, there is no such thing as 5K on making any ferrari right. If your idea of fixing it yourself is your ticket...great..but the 360 will be very challenging to fix alone, the 308 you will.

Welcome to the board, everyone on here in the CDN section is a friend, and great, you cant go wrong. Difference of views is always cool...but just dont buy on price...better to buy a perfect 308, than a ratty 360...you will enjoy the ferrari driving experience alot more. Welcome aboard...!!! enjoy your stay.

PS...any owner that has a strong 308/328 will not let it go for the 30ish-40ish price your looking at spending...good luck on your search.

yeah....it showed up on eBay as well this week.

kinda glad i missed it....although i would liked to have tried to low ball it....still set on a cherry 308...or liquidating some other toys for a 360...i know....night and day....but i'm still dreaming.....i've been reading everything about 308's i can find....really learning alot of fine details.....the small little subtleties.....but i've been a real addict on the 308's for 30+ years....i know what i'm getting into. Saw an nice TR yesterday....damn i forgot how wide they are....:D

    thanks everyone for your indulgence.

    cheers,C
