    Ouch.

I saw this on another car forum. Now I live in the States and can't get my hands on Autocar. Would any of you boys across the pond scan this one so we can all drool? It's the latest Autocar, a 0-100-0 megatest. A new world record was broken, but not by the Enzo; it was a hopped-up Caterham 7 Superlight, an R500 Evolution. It went 0-100-0 in 10.76 seconds! The Carrera GT and Pagani Zonda also participated in the test, but the Enzo dusted them.

World record? I remember Mark going 0-200 in 11 seconds in a 917-30. I bet that would have been faster 0-100-0. I bet a modern F1 car would be even faster. That said for a street legal car both of those times are super.

He means world record for a road going production car, it was previously held by the Mclaren F1 at 11.5 seconds I believe

i believe that it was road and track that did a very similar test...but i think that it was 0-150-0 (or maybe 0-100-0). they had a few different classes of cars and they also had the enzo compete...they put it in a class of its own since its time was vastly superior to the others. they pitted a Murci against a Saleen S7 (murci won i believe). i dont have this issue of R&T around my place right now, but if anyone can dig this up and compare it to autocar's test, that would be cool.

I think that road tests such as these are a better predictor of how well a car performs (obviously with a skid pad and slolem). since it has accel above 60 mph and also incorporates the car's braking ability.

Road&Track (8/03) had the Enzo doing

    Time:
    0-100: 6.9 sec
    transition: 0.8
    100-0: 4.0

    Distance:
    0-100: 557 feet
    transition: 122
    100-0: 275

    Total: 0-100-0 in 11.7sec and 954 ft

Just noticed it might be important to note that "the Enzo reached a peak speed of 104.1mph...because different test procedures are employed where no braking occurs until after 100mph is registered on the radar gun (previous tests were done with a 5th wheel). Consequently, no anticipation is permitted while accelerating..."

Wow, that is a screamin' 60-100 time... 3.17s!

Interesting the effect of light weight... it jumps to an early lead, then gets passed by the Enzo at high speed... but then way out-brakes the field back down to zero! That would be cool to watch side-by-side!! :D

That's a rocket! With a parachute for brakes, unfortunately.
But again, it would have been fun to watch side-by-side... its way ahead and starts braking almost 2 seconds before the rest of the field... but then the rest of the field comes to a stop about the same time... but distance-wise, it would be waayyyy further down the track than everyone else.
