Just wanted to start a thread about a new service facility in Jupiter named Auto Italia. The mechanic there, Vinnie, who many in South Florida have met at various events, has taken my 348 in for some routine service with a great attitude, and understanding of my finicky nature in getting work done on my car. The plan is to have the fluids changed and get the A/C line fixed up until the major service is due (early next year). The shop looks great and has some nice Ferraris in it. Super clean, but not over the top. I am looking forward to reporting the outcome and hopefully positive recommendation for others in the area considering a location to have the service work done on their Italian sports car. Vinnie is a Ferrari and Lamborghini certified mechanic. They also have one Alfa in the shop currently, and a Pantera. They are located about two minutes from the I-95 exit at Indiantown Road. Their phone number is 743-9331. I have had service work done at Tim Stanford previously and liked their work, but Fort Lauderdale is a bit of a haul for me, so I thought I would try the new local shop.

Sounds like a good option for those of you in north County.

You should invite them to the July 6 SSF dinner. If they do good on your car, we can listen to their talk, if they screw up, we can poison them.

Vinnie has attended several events (including BT's BBQ). He seems like a very nice guy and seems to know his stuff about F-cars. Keep us posted on your results!!

That's what I thought as I know of no certification program by Ferrari or Lambo.

So like he may have a certification for AC Repair?
So what certifactions does this person have????

By the way Paulie do you have business relationship with this company, your earlier post where you thanked Bill for his "kind words" seemed like you were involved in this operation........????

I didn't read the fine print, but I did see some Certificates on display basically telling me the mechanic had training to work on the cars. I also had some discussions with Vinnie, and his approach to repairs is in line with the way I see things should be done.

Your statement says he is a Mechanic certified by both Lambo and Ferrari.
This is not splitting hairs or picking an argument I would just like to know what that means as I know of no general certification issued by Ferrari or Lambo.

I have no problem with endorsements of Business but this one seems a little too much. He hasn't even worked on your car yet (yes you do state such).

By the way I do not know Vinnie and have no problems with him, this is about the post not the mechanic or his shop.

It's already after 10 AM, shouldn't you be getting ready for the Early Bird lunch special about now? U.S. 19 is probably already packed with seniors on their way to the Roadhouse Grill.

I do believe there are Ferrari factory trained mechanics, and they probably receive some sort of certificate that states this. Most of these folks used to work for a Ferrari franchise dealer when they got this training, and then went independent. They certainly didn't get their training working on Toyotas. Well, at least not most of them.

Likely , Lambo does the same.

P.S. I read an eye opening statistic the other day. Soon to be the greatest cause of death in retirement homes, other than age, is AIDS. This is due to the unprotected sexual activity of seniors. Also known as the Backlash of Viagra. Please do not try to visualize this, as you may go blind yourself.

    Zing!
I just thought I would start a thread where the first impression of a service facility was positive. Good or bad, my experience with Auto Italia will be posted here. I am betting on a good experience.

I did not use the word "probably" in my statement; someone else did. from what I understand a technician that is trained by a dealer or factory gets a certificate of completion after completing the coursework and training. makes sense to me.
Also, I am not in attack mode and anything else is none of your business.

    Paulie....

There may be certain area's that Ferrari offer training while your are working for a Ferrari Authorized Ferrari Dealer like ABS systems on a specific model but is no such thing as a "Certified Ferrari Mechanic". Using such a statement is misleading and bogus. Tim in Lauderdale states that his FNA trained but then again he hasn't worked at a Dealer in many years. Brain Crall was FNA trained as well but if you read his posts he makes fun of their lack of training.

As for what is none of my business you are wrong: you are a FC Moderator and you are constantly promoting a business that you obviously seem to have an interest in yet you will not disclose it.

Your Right I've never seen a certificate but that is because I have the privilege of spending about 20 hours a week (for the past few years) learning Ferrari repair from a Former Master Technician for Scuderia Ferrari (with the Like of Redman, Ickyx, Regazonni, Lauda and Amon in the 60’s and 70”s) and trained in the Factory by the likes of chief engineer Forshieri and Gioto Bizzarrini. Strange how he has no certificates!

I can get you or your friend a certificate of appreciation or a certificate of participation, whichever you prefer. I will also need his name and a preference for the color of print. I think Blue is regal, but red looks better for an Italian shop.

I have been reviewing the ongoing banter in this chat regarding my certification or questionable certification. First of all I would like to state that I am Italian born and raised from Palermo, Sicily and have not only trained here in the states but grew up in the garages where many of the cars that are native to my country are serviced everyday. I have not had the need to train under any of the names that you drop within the chat because I have spent my life in and around these cars, however I know several of the names that you have mentioned and I may even know people that you are not aware of. I do not feel the need to specify where or how I acquired my certifications however you are always welcome to stop by the shop and see for yourself. By the way do you read Italian because some of my awards/certifications are in Italian and I would certainly want you to be able to understand what they say. I have a real love for these cars and for the quality service that I always strive to provide. I may not always be available on the chat because I am a working owner, however when I am I will certainly respond to any questions or issues that I may be the subject of.

    That's Strange.

    But to each his own.

By the way no one question your certification as you were not part of the Discussion it was a statement made about Ferrari and Lambo certified that was questioned....in fact it was made clear in my post that this was not about you or your shop but I guess you missed that part.

I do believe that when my shop, my name and my certifications are mentioned in a public chat room and are joked about, questioned and basically assumed as bogus that I have every right to respond as I have. Just because you know of none does not mean that they do not exist but that is neither here nor there. The true merit of my work does not lie within my certifications but the honesty, integrity and quality that I place on every job performed by me. People who know me know this to be factual and those who do not talk about it in a chat room. This is all that I will say about this subject. I welcome anyone including yourself to come into my shop meet me, and test the quality of my work where you will find my certifications proudly displayed in the entrance to my work area. Thanks for providing the spark that may just very well ignite the curiosity of future customers! Have a great evening.
