    I have had the same experience with these projectors. These OEM Ferrari projectors are offered for several models that are supposed to replace the existing puddle light part number #188250. The #188250 is used in many models and in many places in the car, puddle light, glove box, trunk etc. It is designed to snap into a rectangular hole and has a keyed interlocked electrical connector. Unfortunately the projector does not fit through the existing hole and the electrical connection is not directly compatible. A non keyed, non polarized, non interlocking short pigtale cable is included with the projectors with no further information requiring careful investigation to establish polarity (the projector has electronics in it and therefore could potentially be destroyed if connected backwards) and some work around to hold it together. As to the mounting, I too am unwilling to cut the door panel, so mine still sit on the self. As to requiring dealer installation, the same issues exist and the projector still would require modification to the door panel.

    Authorized Ferrari dealerships have access to installation schematics, provided by Ferrari North America. Regardless of what needs to be done to install this, it should be installed by an authorized Ferrari technician with access to Ferrari MODIS and web based ROL capabilities. For this to be installed correctly, without issue, and with an installation guarantee, as I stated previous, it is highly recommended this be installed by an authorized Ferrari Service Center/Dealership.
