Seems a bizzare decision
Charles' got a warning for going to Monaco this week and breaching Covid-19 code of conduct. Bottas also went to Monaco, but claims that he stayed in his "bubble". https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/charles-leclerc-warned-over-coronavirus-182443787.html
I think this is not great news. The sport has agree'd to rules and procedures. They should be followed by all. Charles tested ok but he could have done something without realizing it and test positive in 10 days. Foolish given all the effort OTHERS are making so drivers can race, teams make money etc ...........
To be clear Charles is the one I root for since last year but...this is silly, photos of partying in MC maskless...and what about his mechanics, they could not jet home...blotted his copybook there.
Too bad. I already noticed last week he seems a bit reckless in regards to COVID protocols. He risked penalties for him and his team. Saw pictures of him karting and talking to someone—he maskless while the other guy wearing a mask—and a couple of post-race lapses last week like close contact with (team member, IIRC) with helmet on but visor and talking right in the other guy’s face.
I understand maybe the suspected oil burning affecting oil volume and composition (?) but why a restriction on fuel if it was legal? Did they roll back fuel regs for everyone?!!
Agree, especially since on Vettel’s car they need to re-baseline the car because of all the issues he had with it last week. By throwing a new floor into the mix, it’ll be much harder to identify what went wrong last week and if they cured the problem.
Sure you can stay within your "bubble" once there, but getting there it is impossible. They either are 100% confined to the venue or not.
The m The masks are asinine. This virus will still kill about the same number regardless of mask protocol, but yeah, he should “follow the rules.”
Asinine is not to use them and risk killing the people you're talking to. C. republic enforced them from day one and they were by far the most successfull country fighting the virus.
To focus on the racing...this is the very first time that two races are run in succession on the same circuit so we will really get to see who has pushed their brain cells hardest since sunday night. Most curious to see what transpires, who progresses the most compared to last week....and no it won't just be biggest budget biggest progression.
Congo Republic? I guess when you are continually geared up to fight ebola a little coronavirus is no big deal.
Czech Republic....just in case you were serious...without looking at the face or hearing tone of voice we never know...
Couldn't be any clearer than the rolleyes and wink indicated regarding ic's disposition. (That's why there's smilies/emoticons..... )
First it was the ski diving, now the quarantine breach. Someone has to show manners to Leclerc. With a stick.
Perhaps his recklessness will allow the Covid to be successful in its attack. That would be stick enough.
Just what we needed: the entire team at the hospital infected with COVID. They´d had to bring the Corse Clienti crew with Raikkonen at the wheel.
Paul from SKY said it best with respect to Charles/Bottas leaving the circuit - Hard to say we win and lose as a team when they jet off and the mechs and others follow simple guidelines to keep the series safe in the crazy world. I would have no issue if both were quarantined over this. None at all and they are my favorite drivers.
Discipline with the rules is a must for success with this new season with COVID about. A lack of it could cost a victory and a title. One would think the drivers would be fully aware and practice the discipline required to stay healthy.
I would say he put his chance of WDC at a risk if he catches Corona (will definitely not be allowed to be near the track then), but after seeing how the Ferrari performs in the real world...his chances are equal whether he catches corona or not!
