Righto, with the NHOS arriving in about a week, I've been looking at other options while I try to work out whether it's really possible to get a lift in my garage. There's a good quality car storage facility less than 1km from my house with individually alarmed garages, security cameras, coded gates etc. I'm considering putting the 355 in there and having Chloe's car and the new DD in the garage, given I only drive the 355 a couple of times a month. I've spoken to Shannons about it and they're happy with that option with a small increase in premium. The storage is not crazy expensive but not insignificant either to a pauper like me (around $3.5k / year). Other option is; does anyone have recommendations for a good quality all-weather car cover? I'm happy to leave the new car outside 90% of the time, but we've had two hailstorms here in the last week and I'd really be peed off if the bloody thing got hailed on not long after I bought it! Is there any product out there that I could stick on it during bad weather to minimise the chance of damage? Cheers!
Steve, I had the C4 in one of these for 4 years. Completely weather proof and only takes a few minutes to set up. I had a car in a storage facility too, ended up using it less as it was out of sight out of mind etc https://www.carcoon.com.au/browse/outdoor-carcoon/

I don’t have the need for one, however I always wondered about them Greg. Any negative ramifications about putting a car in there straight after a drive when the car is really hot?
You can leave your car at my place ... I'll put a cover over it so it doesn't get noticed next to a proper car Or leave it at FrankR's house
Hmmm. Both of those options are interesting, thanks. Issue here is, like every modern McMansion the land is tiny. There isn't any spare land to erect a shelter on. I do have my "own" car space in the lane-way behind the garage, but I doubt I could set up either of those in that spot.
I don’t think so, base is very heavy duty rubber, inflates very quickly and fans are constantly on. There is a drying mode too, so car can go in wet
This'll go down well. Get rid of both your current DD's and get a pair of these....................... https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2014-abarth-595-turismo-manual/SSE-AD-6648429/?Cr=13 About 3.6M long. Or 1 of each... https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/2013-smart-fortwo-pulse-mhd-auto-my11/SSE-AD-6624148/?Cr=0>s=SSE-AD-6624148>sSaleId=SSE-AD-6624148>sViewType=showcase&rankingType=showcase
Yeah, not sure about that. I had the use of a 695 Abarth for about 3 weeks, so I know that as a DD it's not really my cup of tea! I also made the mistake of saying on some idiotic website that I felt like a bit of a knob driving it, and funnily enough, I haven't been offered a loan car since!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah. It's completely impractical as a daily driver. It was a hell of a lot of fun to drive, and felt pretty damn quick too. But the biggest issue for me was that when I got out of it and looked back at it I felt embarrassed. It was too boy / girl / homer-sexual racer for me. Interestingly, everybody else absolutely loved it! I got loads of thumbs-ups, wind your windows down and chat about it from other drivers (mainly blokes, bizarrely). So what do I know?!
That gave me nightmares at the time. I’ve got three cars permanently on trickle chargers. Naturally with my CDO, they are Porsche branded CTek trickle chargers.
Actually I think it was both. Most of the guys whom gave the thumbs up did have the appearance of, errrrr, vagina-decliners... NTTAWWT.
