Everything you said is correct, including Adrian's bingle on the freeway. The engine ended up next to him. He was doing 100kph. Never mind....355 owners are in denial.

Seriously, Keith Minchin who use to work at Cants told me that most 355s were rear-ended into something when it was wet and the one he had in the workshop at the time had spun and smashed all four wheels during it's sojourn doing the wet pirouette but I have driven my 355 many times in the wet up here where we have REAL RAIN and the worst I've experienced is aquaplaning which is understandable with tyre width........ on the track a totally different scenario, spun EVERY lap at The Bend and scary aquaplaning at QR, never done Lakeside in the wet and won't
Well, I've now done 25,000km in a normal 355 with initially Bridgestone RE050As and now Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I have driven it every kind of weather imaginable. I don't not drive because it's raining or some other poofy excuse. My car has never felt anything other than planted, and has never done anything unexpected or even slightly strange. I've spun it twice on track, of course, but that doesn't count. I love how some of - well, ok... one of - you "experts" think that your personal experience or that of a couple of other people you know counts for everything, yet anyone else's different experience is dismissed out of hand and they should be ridiculed. My experience is what it is, and it's borne out of a lot more than a couple of drives here or there.
I would agree whole heartedly but due to my accident I am very wary of pushing the boundaries in the wet on public roads .... to the point I am a pu55y with the right foot on winding uneven roads .... the old "live to fight another day" syndrome. Mind you it is still a quick car but I am driving in the wet waiting for something to happen ...... spin (it hasn't YET !!!) On the GG a few years back I left Walcha 5-10 minutes before everyone else and was driving towards Port Macquarie well below the speed limit (truly!!) and going around some 30 kph corners the car just let go and understeered off road narrowly missing the old one-legged albino kangaroos..... new Bridgestone road tyres, so probably something spilled onto the road but still if I had been flying it would have been very hairy And yet coming back from a GG in the QV on well worn Toyo 888 tyres in light rain on a slippery road it hung on for grim death and I was expecting it to slip and slide all over the place ....... a brilliant car and tyre combo for me personally
What's defensive about posting my actual experience as a long term owner? I'm quite sure that during that 25,000km I've used every gear in the wet.

Actually, I didn't take any pictures, which, under FChat [Australia Section] rules, means it didn't really happen! I wanted to push it to it's (nanny protected) limits, but the driving instructor was... rather insistent I didn't. I was going to order one, but I couldn't find my pen...
