How many hours do you have to do in the simulator Gary ? The F-111 pilots and navs were always booked for the sim if they weren't flying ... wouldn't have been as fancy as the one you use and they only had one city they could bomb
Actually it was San Francisco which I thought was funny I only ever got to play with the sim once when my mate was the flight sargent in charge of the sim and he and I blew everything up I crashed coming in to land
I’ll tell you what Steve...Their ATC is so useless...If you flew in there daily I recon you would have to be on long term medication to stop you arcing up...I’ve been asked to hold 1 hour into my 16 hour flight to NewYork in their airspace because the military decided to go flying and they simply just shut their airspace...
Jeepers. That would be properly frustrating. That's where you call Moretti and his F-111 in to sort them out... My only international ATC experience was on the ferry I did, and the frustration was more around trying to work out WTF they were saying than anything else. Couldn't understand a bloody word all the way through India & Myanmar. Middle East didn't seem too bad, as there were the odd South African / English / Aussie controllers. Only place we had significant holding was Bali. After landing at Dubai, Delhi, and KL I thought that was amusing. Oh, and of course, on our final leg from Broome - Adelaide we got the traditional slow down about 100 miles out because there was one other aircraft within 200nm of the airport...
I would usually blame Moretti, however I suspect Adrian forgot to put fuel in. $75 million Super Hornet crashes in aborted take-off at RAAF Base - ABC News https://apple.news/AWjFF4YxfQGeoXawYuV8kbw
