The second dump and burn was from GC Indy, I miss the F111"s

 

Yep, there use to be a stencil we put on the side of the F-111s which was for the number of chickens they killed when they went mach 0.8 @200'

Exercise we did in '79 at Townsville the RAAF got a bill for a lot of smashed windows when they left town, was quite funny until the CO got a "please explain"

We lost at least two 111s to birds, one going through the front window killing the pilot outright and then the plane inverted and the nav pulled the eject handle unfortunately ejecting into the ground from low level.

I never saw the 111s do any low level flying near civilians like in the clip, looked fuching dangerous to me

Did see a Mirage pilot fly between two hangars during the 75th anniversary celebrations !!!

Now that was dangerous as there was a cable dangling between the hangars !!!

 

Why, did they have masks on ?

Interesting and rare to see a couple of Chinooks following the Brisbane River through town today.

 

They must have been taking a scenic route north because they came along the beach here at about rooftop level.

And oh yeah, all that safety gear .... useless when the plane is doing 1000 kph heading to a hard deck of mountains
