    If it rains I''m out.Next Thursday would be good for me next week. It takes me a hour and a half to get to West Chester from where I live near Ocean City so I'll keep my eye on the weather.

    OMG...it really rained. We couldnt even see where the car in front of us was. thank god Steve encouraged me to put up my top. I would have gotten drenched. Don how did you and Bob make out after we got split up? Jon

    That was crazy for a bit.... but turned out well in the end.

    Bob and Don's Big Adventure!! ...Brandon too. :)

    When the rain started I found a place to stop and assemble the top. No problem, Brandon and I were only completely soaked. So we continued. The heater and defroster were drying everything nicely and the rain was slowing. Then it happened. Coming around a curve, at a moderate speed (the roads were still slippery) there was a large bundle of branches across the road. Hit the brakes and was slowing at the needed rate when the road became quite slippery and the front wheels locked. Damn. Hit the branches at about 5-10 mph and drove on top of them. Brandon and I pulled most of them out and by that time Bob, who made a fantastic move to the left to avoid Lotus and branches, was able to help get the last piece out. There is some damage to the fiberglass under the front bumper and the big branch punched a small hole in the left wheel/foot well.

    After getting under way again it was decided to stop early for dinner. Good food and pleasant conversation. The drive home from there was boringly uneventful. :D

    So, looking at the damage in the light of day with a cup of Punjana tea in hand (thanks Nick) it all seems easily repaired and, if not entirely fun, an adventure better than sleeping in front of the TV.

    Official Notice!

    The August Dusk Drive will be on WEDNESDAY the 24th with boring sunny weather predicted with (yawn) zero percent rain.

    Wednesday instead of Thursday because on Thursday Jon will be on the way to NJMP and Brandon and I will be early to bed so we can start for NJMP at O-Dark-Thirty. :)
