    Good day for a Monday...

-Phantom at Bluepointe early in the afternoon
-weird spot of the day, a Rolls Royce golf cart driving down West Paces, it had the grille and everything
-terrible picture of a GT Speed at Kyma
    -Gallardo Spyder at Terminus
-Chris' Murcielago pulling out of Lenox, back with his old wheels, which usually means that he has some new ones on the way
-DBS driving down Peachtree, this was the first time I've seen one of these driving and it sounded amazing!
-R8 on Florida plates in front of Lenox, it later ended up at Bluepointe
    -Viper SRT/10 on Roswell Rd
-430 Spyder in the valet behind Chops

I don't disagree that the stock exhaust system is a bit quiet - however I've been on full-throttle in a 575M during a high-RPM first-to-second gear change and let me tell you: Tubi opens that thing up. :D

Interesting plate on that Prowler - reminiscent of a certain Dodge Viper we see in Buckhead from time to time.

    Recent spots from me:

    Sunday June 28:
    - silver Audi R8 on Florida plate VENTURE at Pricci.
    - white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder at Buckhead Diner.
    - silver Panoz Esperante at Capital Grille.
    - black Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead at the St. Regis.
    - silver Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph on Piedmont at East Paces Ferry.

    Monday June 29:
    - black Aston-Martin DB7 Volante on University of Georgia plates on Roswell Road at Powers Ferry.
    - silver Audi R8 on Florida plate VENTURE at BluePointe.
    - black Bentley Continental GT Speed at Kyma on Piedmont.
    - red Ferrari F430 Spider on Colorado plates in the valet behind Chops off Peachtree near West Paces.
    - blue Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder at Terminus valet.
    - blue Lamborghini Murcielago at Lenox Mall.

Crazy non-exotic sighting of the weekend goes to a blue Honda Integra Type-R on Missouri plates in the garage at Lenox Mall. The Honda Integra was sold in the States in this body style as the Acura RSX, but we never got the Type-R. Normally I'd think this to be a badge job, except for the right-hand drive configuration! A very cool sighting of an odd car, made even odder because the USDM Acura RSX Type-S was only down about ten horsepower to the JDM Honda Integra Type-R!

The worst abomination of an Italian car. I saw this on my way in the office today. A Maserati Quattroporte spray painted teal with a lightning bolt on the side. It really was all shiny and dull all over like it was spray painted. On Maryland tags. Sorry for the bad pics. I can't afford one of those fancy cameras you guys all have to take action shots. :)

Wow. I've seen a gold Quattroporte around the Emory area on those 'Treasure the Chesapeake' plates - I wonder if he had it painted. I'd imagine so, since I can't believe Maserati would sell that as a factory color!

    You should hear it!

    Spots from yesterday:

    - white Aston-Martin DB9 in general parking at Phipps Plaza.
    - black Aston-Martin DB9 Volante on Florida plates in general parking at Phipps Plaza.
    - silver Audi R8 on Wildlife (eagle) plates at the St. Regis. Plates are one away from a Ferrari F430 we've seen recently.
    - black Bentley Continental on Honorary Consul plates at Monroe Drive and Piedmont.
    - gold Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead at Terminus valet.

Also caught a black Maserati Quattroporte on Florida plates on the back of a tow truck with a wheel missing pulling into Butler Tire on Roswell Road. Not a sight you see every day!

    Stats to come later today.

Great pictures as always Doug. That last picture of the Quattroporte is a major bummer! Hope that didnt happen while in mid-drive. May have to do with those custom wheels.

Thanks! I was thinking the exact same thing about the Quattroporte - probably custom-wheel related and I hope it didn't happen while driving. It can't be good for the car to be resting on the brake disc like that, even on the back of a tow truck, so I hope it gets sorted.

    June By The Numbers:

    June plates:

    - Georgia
    - Illinois
    - Louisiana
    - Montana
    - New Jersey
    - North Carolina
    - Ohio
    - South Carolina
    - Tennessee
    - Texas

    Year-to-Date Sightings: 715
    Total Sightings: 2068 (962 cars)

Well... the Phantom finally passed the 360, which was an inevitability, though I didn't think it would happen so soon. However I saw ten different Phantoms in June - six of which were new - and just one 360, so it's no surprise. Meanwhile, the Audi R8 is on the heels of the Murcielago, just one car away from being on the top ten. And the F430 has finally pulled two ahead of the Gallardo. Time will tell if the lead expands.

Once again, I saw an exotic car every single day in June, meaning I have now seen an exotic car each of the last 84 days. Amazing!

Thanks! The statistics have proven to be quite interesting and, to me, compiling them is among the more enjoyable parts of this hobby! And in keeping with the statistics, which list the F430 as by far the most popular car in both May and June (as well as narrowly the most popular overall), July starts off with four of them:

    - black Ferrari F430 on Piedmont just south of Peachtree.
    - red Ferrari F430 at Houston's.
    - red Ferrari F430 on Montana plates (and Scuderia wheels, as of very recently!) in a parking lot just south of Piedmont and Peachtree.
    - red Ferrari F430 on temporary plates (written out just a few days ago) at Whole Foods on West Paces.

In addition to the F430s, a great night all around. Other sightings:

    - dark blue Aston-Martin DB9 on Piedmont and Peachtree.
    - black Aston-Martin V8 Vantage at Hal's.
    - black Aston-Martin V8 Vantage at Lenox Mall.
    - white Bentley Arnage on dealer plates at a British car repair shop on Roswell Road near West Paces.
    - white Bentley Arnage at Whole Foods on West Paces.
    - black Bentley Azure (old style) on Peachtree between Piedmont and Lenox Road.
    - black Bentley Continental GT Speed on Colorado plates at Terminus.
    - black Ferrari 550 Maranello at Mellow Mushroom on Peachtree nearing Midtown.
    - red Porsche 911 GT3 [997] on South Carolina "Support The Troops" plates at Hal's/Tin Lizzy's.

Congratulations Doug! Mostly on your article in the July edition of Automobile mag. I just finished reading it. I was browsing the mag when I came across your name and thought - hey, I know that name! Interesting stuff. I wasn't sure which section to congratulate you in, but I thought you wrote more in this one. Nice work!

Yesterday, after picking up my Ferrari with its redone interior, I drove to Buckhead and had lunch at Nancy's Pizza on Peachtree. Then I took a slow ride up to the malls, passing by the Lenox valet area and later the Phipps valet area, after making a brief stop at Border's Books. Then I got on 400 north and headed home. During all that time I did not see a single other exotic car of any kind. I guess my timing was all bad..... :(

Yesterday was a weird day, very few cars on a beautiful Friday night...definitely not the usual for Buckhead. Today was pretty much the same, but understandable because of all of the events going on in the area.

-new G37s convertible, I've always liked this car and the convertible looks pretty good
    -white R8 at Lenox
-Arnage at Phipps, the awful spray painted Quattroporte was parked on the other side but the owners were getting in the car so I didn't take a picture. The paint looked awful and it had a huge dent in the front bumper, definitely a sad sight to see.
-probably the most ridiculous car I saw all day was this Cleveland Cavaliers stickered Grand Marquis. The sticker on the back window says "2009 NBA MVP LeBron James"

Thanks Mark! Today I was doing touristy things in Atlanta with my parents visiting and ran across a newsstand with the next month's issue of Automobile, meaning the glory is fading fast. Still hard to believe it happened at all!

My timing is worse, because I missed your car! Would've been lovely to see a 328 on the Buckhead streets so often filled with the same recent exotic shapes...

    From the last few days:

    Thursday July 2:
    - black Aston-Martin V8 Vantage at Aria valet.
    - black Bentley Arnage on display from Bentley Atlanta at the St. Regis.
    - white Bentley Arnage at the Mansion valet.
    - red Ferrari F430 at Terminus.
    - yellow Ferrari F430 Spider on Florida plates and a red Ferrari Testarossa parked together at Fado.
    - white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder on Piedmont approaching Sidney Marcus.
    - gray Panoz Esperante at Chops valet.

    Friday July 3:
    - black Aston-Martin DB9 at the Mansion.
    - dark blue Aston-Martin V8 Vantage Roadster on South Carolina plates on Lenox and Peachtree.
    - black Bentley Arnage on display from Bentley Atlanta at the St. Regis.
    - red Dodge Viper RT/10 on vanity plate TOPTHIS on Peachtree near Piedmont.
    - red Ferrari F355 on wildlife (eagle) plates at the Mansion valet.

    Saturday July 4:
    - white Audi R8 on California plates on Peachtree at West Paces, then later parked behind Tower Place off Peachtree.
    - black Bentley Arnage on display from Bentley Atlanta at the St. Regis.
    - white Bentley Arnage on Roswell Road at West Paces Ferry.
    - black Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph at the St. Regis.
