Not trying to round up business just wanting to see where you guys are going. It used to be that Purkle was the one most went to but from what I understand he can't do heavy hits. Again, just curious here... I know some also go to flash back off of 400. Everytime I get the new issue of Forza and start going through the back section I get eager to do the highline work again.

Bo Pirkle. 770-939-6982 He's the most experienced and his work has won many concours awards.

Who told you he can't do heavy hits? He's pieced two cars together to make one - which won first place in a NATIONAL FCA meet.

I saw that 328 before and after and it was an amazing transformation. Bo currently has his own 550 that he pieced together that looks as new now

I saw that 550 at your church show Frank, and I thought the paint was terrible!!!! Others also commented the same!

What part of the car didn't you like the paint?

Bo didn't paint the entire car as he likes to leave as much original paint as he can get away with. You may have been looking at the original paint.

I was not at the show, so I can't comment about what might have been said.

Whenever it comes to comments, one always has to consider the source to determine if there are any underlying reasons.

I went the F crew to a Panoz tour several years ago. Scotty Panoz was there and talked to us for a while. When we were in the assey line by the paint section we saw several Esperantes with massive runs in the bumpers. More then 3 different cars. My comment on Pirkle (sp) was more that I was understanding he could do not heavy hits with any of the Carbon or Alum. Not meaning the sheet metal, sorry for that.
I enjoy the challenge the cars and the owners bring.

I asked what panels were you looking at? fwiw, I haven't seen the car. Also, some original delivered paintwork has not been flawless - blend lines, milky look, orange peel, etc.

I believe Aluminum and Carbon fibre damage is replaced in sections, and not repaired.

I think what you might have heard is that Pirkle is not a factory authorized repair facility.

"...like new..." paint on a Ferrari is fair at best...just stop be a dealer and look at a new one outside in the sunlight yourself...not in the showroom lights...when Bo does a complete repaint on a Ferrari he will ask the owner "...do you want it like it left the factory or do you want a good paint job...I have used Bo for paint and body work on several of my cars...Ferrari's, BMW's, Honda's and more...and have always been well please with his work. In fact he is repairing hail damage to my wife's Honda as I type...

My money's on Bo, he plods along, but ends up delivering a great finished product. No one is perfect, but he's about as close to it as you get.

He has someone that comes in to do it as needed...the hail damage on my wife's car is too bad for that...Bo counted 127 dents on the roof and hood...

Again, the paint on that 550 is NOT original and it is TERRIBLE! I can't speck about his other work, but the 550 is one of the worst paint jobs I have ever seen on an upscale car !!! Sorry if there truth upsets you !!!!! Others that were in attendance made similar comments and it was even pointed out to me by another person at the show who knows paint!!

I don't remember you being there Back marker!! I'm just stating facts. I have nothing to gain or lose. I could care less if bo does good work or not. I'm just telling what I saw and the conversations that took place and it was not a competitor. Good Grief!
    What did you see??
I have nothing else to say on the subject.

Come on guys! How the Hell does a thread started about which paint/body shop people use turn into this? I went back and looked at #7 & 11 and I didn't see where you said that you were there. I also didn't see where F355Bvc said you were there (please post # where he did and I'll stand corrected). Bo has his cheerleaders out there and I'm sure he does great work as do many others do. Does it really matter what part of the paint doesn't look good to someone? It's all a matter of personal taste and acceptance of level of work IMO. If irt doesn't look good to someone than that's that, they don't like it. Just like the person who thinks a 355 or a 308 or even a toyota looks like crap, to each their own. If F355Bvc says that something looks like crap to him who's to argue? That's the way it looks to him. Thank God this world isn't made up of people who think exactly the same, it would be very boring.
As Rodney King once said "can't we all just get along" or something like that.
Enough is enough, I'm going to dinner now.
    Walt

I can understand all sides. It's the same as people having their favorite artist. It's great to see that people about are passionate about who does their work and that's good.

Yes, Carbon and Alum are replaced in sections but your are still having to take it in for "repair". This summer I am testing for the I-Car and ASE alum repair. I want to take my shop to the next level and be able to do the higher line repairs. ECR in fayetteville has the account for Volvo and Audi is shipping their stuff to Mississippi form what I understand. I already have ASE and Icar refinish, frame, structural, non structural along w/ several BASF (RM, Galsurit) certs, Lifetime warranty, colourmatch and advanced colourmatch.

My shop has been here since 77. We do the work for Vintage mustang, Metro Mustang and Cobra Restorers. Several of ours have gone to Barrett Jackson to be sold. We just finished a Concours Fastback for Vintage Mustang, runs and all ;)

For what it's worth. I saw that testarossa that was repaired at Buckhead collision and it looked fantastic. I'm no paint expert but I can tell when something looks funny and I thought it looked perfect and the color match was spot on. Also they did his work in about a week and refinished the wheels while it was there. All of the work was flawless.
