Took care of this amazing machine today. Car was shipped from Germany to take part of a number of Porsche events across the US. Had running issues and someone recommended our shop (thank you to the anonymous party)worked on it all day on my day off and got it all fixed up. It's #2 of 2 factory built race cars valued around half a million. What an honor to work on such a special piece of history.

Interestingly I had to wait for this one to arrive from Kentucky Friday evening and it was delayed. Otherwise I'd have left the shop by the time the Safari limped in. Everything happens for a reason.

At least you wouldn't have to work in the dark with that thing in there. Where is it scheduled to go?

Well. Upon talking to the couple one last time as the stopped by to say good bye this morning it turns out they also own #1 of this car which they actually race in vintage rallies in Germany. This one is the "showcar"
    I'm even more flattered.

It had a hot start issue coupled with a weak starter because of it. I created a hot start enrichment device and installed a new starter. 99% better but we were still compensating for an underlying issue. All I could do in a Saturday. They were tickled

I believe those are not roof racks, but actually traction ladders for getting out of deep sand/mud.

Look at this cute little number I saw at Rock Barn is weekend..and it works well as a spare tire carrier, don't it. Was your visitor a 912 too? This puppy won the Pcar class...
