Aston Martin V8 Vantage (The Classic One)!

Beautiful cars , esp with the BBS wheels.

 

i really liked these cars when i was in high school. but now they remind me too much of a ford capri. still, it is a handsome car with a nice ride.

They used BBS and Ronal and Works Service has Ronals available but they aren't exactly the same. This is causing many comments over at the owners club website.To tell you the truth they posted pics and they looked the same to me.
I always thought they looked like a mustang, but my gf thinks they look like challengers. Everyone should own a handbuilt car at least once in their life.
The Vantage was the hottter version. Not sure if any real ones (as opposed to cosmetic) made it into the U.S. I think the last ones used 50mm Webers.

 

In my youth I was lucky to have my local agent stock Fast Lane magazine. Typical English evaluations but great pictures. They’d compare the Porsche 930 the Ferrarii BB512, Lambo Countach etc and sometimes they’d include the Aston Vantage. I loved it. It was a 170 mph blaster where they’d never get the Lambo above 155 with the wing. It stood over the Ferrari and Lambo and Dwarf the Porsche, and in comparison couldn’t handle anywhere near the others but it won some of the comparison tests. The interior looked fantastic. I’d have one too if I could

 

argento...bully for you! i will watch the site intently as i am a huge fan and nearly bought a vantage flip tail some years ago. i really love the cars and wonder what a good 5sp will be like to live with?

I also like them, they look truly timeless and were perhaps one of the last truly bespoke supercars to come out of the UK......Big V8 with Weber Carbs, simple in design and very effective in practice...and then there was the X pack......

They are my fav wheels for this car. A Blue AM with thos wheels ...Perfect !

 

While the body is aluminum, the chassis is steel(and how!) and they do corrode where they meet. One thing many ads say is 'new sills fitted'. This guy has posted his repair of a V8.
