any new news on the lawsuit?

I'm not sure it's confirmed, But my dealer at Continental told me that St. Louis Motorsports lost their Ferrari service
Confirmed. St. Louis Motorsports sent a two-page letter to Ferrari Service clients dated December 9 and wrote essentially: ~ We're no longer a factory-authorized Ferrari service center ~ It was our decision to terminate the relationship and we're terribly sorry for the inconvenience to you ~ The decision was made for economic reasons as, without the added revenues from a promised selling agreement with Ferrari, a service-only arrangement is too expensive (cited examples) and not profitable ~ For in-warranty service, head to Chicago or Denver; for out-of-warranty service, we're still available to assist you ~ Ferrari SpA is daffy for not giving St. Louis Motorsports a selling agreement ~ Send your hate mail to Luca and Sergio and be sure to CC St. Louis Motorsports because we're suing them. Unfortunately, we can reasonably surmise that St. Louis Motorsports will likely soon drop both Maserati sales and service, too. A sorry day for Ferrari-Maserati enthusiasts who happen to live in the thousand-mile territory between Chicago and Denver.
It is sad that it did not work out for St Louis Motorsports, but it seemed they had lost their desire to wait for FNA. In Kansas City, over the last few years, a significant number of Ferrari owners have chosen to use Ferrari of Denver for service. The quality of work is incredibly high and unlike St Louis, Ferrari of Denver is very involved with the local FCA chapter, including Crescent Classic. Ferrari of Denver understands it is all about the quality of work and a positive relationship with it's customers. A dealer needs to develop and maintain positive relationships with it's client base. In Kansas City we were initially very supportive of St Louis Motorsports but that enthusiasm quickly went away when St Louis Motorsports lost interest in being involved with the Ferrari community west of St Louis. In my opinion, the failure of this dealer to maintain positive relationships within the Ferrari community ultimately contributed in them losing money on what could have been a very profitable relationship. This is a sad ending, I know JJ and Graham wanted to be a Ferrari sales and service dealer, under different circumstances, I suspect they may have been successful.
St Louis Motorsports was very friendly with the Missouri & Southern Illinois Chapter of the FCA. My information says that a deal was done but an envelope was not proffered. Sole reason. Jeff
Yeah, I would think Dallas is a much better choice than Denver. Both Chicago dealers are still the most convenient though.
Norman, Welcome. Are you allowed to make any comments on the lawsuit status? Did the venue stay out here or was FNA successful in getting it moved to the East Coast? Jeff Kennedy
Norm, As always I wish the best for St Louis Motorsports, I truly wish things had worked out differently. I always enjoyed the time I spent with JJ and Graham. As for Crescent Classic, I am extremely grateful to St Louis Motorsports for the support they gave to Crescent Classic. I don't know that Crescent Classic would have attained it's position as the largest Ferrari Rally in North America without the help from Graham and JJ in Crescent Classic's early years. I am proud to announce that Crescent Classic 2011 will be featured in an upcoming issue of Cavallino Magazine. Perhaps you are not aware that Crescent Classic offered to waive sponsorship fees during the period you mentioned in order to help St Louis Motorsports through a very difficult financial period that many dealerships were going through. Crescent Classic has always been about relationships with our sponsors and our attendees. I can truly say that we missed having Graham and JJ at Crescent Classic. Even though Ferrari of Denver is now our primary sponsor, we would love to have you attend again in the future. If there is ever anything we can do to help, please feel free to let me know. Chris Parr FCA Chapter Pressident - Kansas City
Thank you for contributing your posts to this thread, Norman. I am very glad to hear that Maserati sales/service is not affected by the dust up with Ferrari. Happy New Year and much success in 2012! Infidel
