Anyone owned one? What was it like? It's pro's and con's?
Have a 2001 DB7 vantage volante. Lovely car, reliable. Have 70,000 miles. Just did the coil pack and plugs becuse it was misfiring-there cars are prone to burning out coil packe, new ones stand the heat better in the middle on the V12 under the intake manifold. Parts about $2100. Do it yourslf you will save a bundle. Do plugs at the same time. Need small hands!. Have fun with the car.
Ha nice that you have an Aston, I don't yet, just wondering, because when I'm old enough I'm going to take some of my savings money and either buy a db7 or f360... Just wanting some opinions, I mean I'm not gonna drive the car around for 10,000 miles, probably not even 2,000 miles, some people ask me why spend a portion of that on a pricey car, but i love super/exotic cars so im fine with that, but just wanted some help on which car, the db7 is half the price cheaper than the 360 on autotrader.co.uk, hopefully the prices drop even more in about 2-5 years time .
True, I usually don't like Aston's style, can't tell the difference between each of the car's. Only the 1-77 and the others lol.
I can honestly tell you that I really fell in love with the new V8, partly because you can still get a conventional 6-speed, and particularly because the interior is so absolutely beautiful. But they are not a Ferrari, and of course they still simply cannot hold their value from list price even over a year.
If you buy one dont buy new. That takes care of the depreciation. If I want a car to take on a 1000 mile road trip,I take the Aston. If I want a short blast I take the Ferrari. If I want to be one with the car I take my 911. Ive always been partial to Astons. One of the most wonderful cars I had was a DB2-4 MkIII, sensitive to driver imput, could toss it around like the TR3A when I was a kid. The Astons cabin is much nicer than the Ferraris. The V12 is smoother but nowhere near the power of the Ferrari V12.
thanks for your guys help, it helps me make my decision down the line, i've pretty much decided that i do want to buy a nice car with that. ill probably get the 360, its my favourite ever car, maybe if i work hard i can get both, all i know is that im prepared to work hard for what i want, and that 360 is what i want, of course the savings i didnt work hard for, but i would at least like to use some of my own money to put back into the savings... but i would of liked to get views and opinions of the cars that have been owned by them, thankfully i have had that help. Btw what do you guys think of the maserati gransport, that's another car i would see exploring into?
Fine car, but I would take either the Aston Martin or the Ferrari. One thing to note is that the 360 is a mid-engine, so that is a whole different dynamic from either the Aston or the Maserati. BTW, I have a Testarossa and a Rolls Royce Silver Dawn, so I am not personally an Aston Martin reference. The only guy I know in the club who had one (a V8 cabrio) went to a California Spyder last year.
I sold a 2000 DB7 6 speed recently and it was a ton of car for the money. It had approx. 42,000 miles. Very expensive to maintain as the service records indicated - all work done at the dealership. Massively expensive. A blast to drive however. I will have a 1997 available soon.
I have an i6 coupe. They are tiny. I'm 6' 0", and I fit, but I would not want to be much taller. Build quality is not much to write home about. But it's still a beautiful car. These days, they can be had for peanuts.
