I'm looking at getting a Nissan Leaf for my mother. There is one that has around 10k miles on it that was a Nissan corporate vehicle.

Though carfax doesn't show any title in the history, would there have been a title with Nissan as the owner, not showing up?

The $7500 tax credit is linked to it being new, and if it hasn't been titled, it should qualify.

What's the best way to check title history on a car?

    Thanks in advance.

Ask if it’s titled or on MSO.

    carfax is truly the best.

Also, just ask to see a copy of the MSO/MCO or a copy of the title.

Manufacturers issue MSO/MCO and the dealer reassigns that to the customer in order to get the first title generated.

Another way to find out, ask the dealer what kind of warranty comes with the car (based on its "in-service date"), new car warranty or CPO.
