    Does anybody know of any good salad bars in Northern NJ? The only salad bar I know of at all in NJ is Ruby Tuesdays, which is OK, but not great -- surely there must be others. Please share if you know of a good salad bar.

    Thanks, will try the Denville location. We used to have 2 Charlie Browns near us, both are closed now so I had forgotton about them. Not sure why there aren't more salad bars in NJ. Tomatoes is a national chain that has a very good salad bar, but they seem to be nonexistent in NJ.

    From the best I can tell salad bars are starting to become a thing of the past (unfortunately). Ruby Tuesday's are the only ones I know of these days. Food costs for fresh vegetables are high and the costs of doing business in the tri-state area are high. Plus, "all you can eat" situations can bring in gluttons (which are common here) trying to beat the system. We used to love the 2 salad bars at Steak & Ale in Saddle River, NJ but the national chain fell victim to the poor economy and went under, now a Porsche dealer sits on the land. There are no salad bars that I know of in Westchester County or south western Fairfield County either anymore. Sad.

    Charlie Browns has some locations in Bergen county in Old Tappan, River Edge, and Oradell. I was upset that they closed the one in Tenafly since it was so close to me too.

    My wife fancies SaladWorks.
    Hit their web site. There's a few around.

    She also likes Panera. Even though some salads are off their menu (like Fandango salad) they'll frequently make it for you anyway.

    While not in Northern NJ a Texas de Brazil is opening soon in the Palisades mall which is right next to Northern NJ. Their salad bar is pretty good, the main reason why we go. There is one now in Yonkers.
