Yeah Nah...Plan B is to retire a few years early if the decision is made for me...I’m sure someone will always need their hedges trimmed , spa cleaned , socks washed and shields polished...
The things you discover on the internet…. I didn’t know about this place in Crete until someone I follow on Instagram visited yesterday https://www.warmuseumaskifou.com/en/about.html Incredible collection of WW2 stuff collected by this family Begs the question, anyone interested in doing a GG style event one day through the Peloponnesus and Crete one day, following the path of the ANZACS? I’m planning to head back there in about 2024-25. Lots of twisty mountain roads where speed signs are merely a suggestion It’d be an absolute hoot Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'd go just for the food .Amanda often talks about a Greek island holidays....she's rich and can shout me ! You could spend a good while in Crete and the history re WW2 and "The Battle of Crete" Never been to Greece ,always wanted too after seeing photos of the various holidays my business partners and his family take, something "cool" about staying on an island at a villa , catching a water taxi and dining at a fish restaurant . I'll ask him which island they stay at ....and report back.
Honestly, I’d avoid all the big touristy islands especially places like Mykonos. Expensive and a full of obnoxious American and British tourists. Travel along the southern coast of the Peloponnesus and it’s better than island hopping. Lots of good fresh food and all the major ancient sites worth visiting are in that area
Great idea. Will you provide the goats? I've always been very interested in WW2. We went to Normandy in 2016. Amazing to see that the metal landing docks the English towed over to France for Operation Overlord are still there off the coast rusting. I didn't expect that.
Nah I reckon we could buy a bunch of these things and really go nuts: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anadol#:~:text=Anadol%20was%20Turkey's%20first%20domestic,Istanbul%20between%201966%20and%201991.
Yeah I thought that'd get the hackles up.! Think of the fun we would have rolling them on some of the roads you told us about, the locals would cheer!
