How do you like it and did you change out the cats?
When i bought my 360 it had a larini exhaust, fabspeed headers and high flow cats. The combination was VERY loud. It was difficult to talk in the car (a modena), I had the headers and cats removed and it quieted down considerably, but was still louder than OEM. The exhaust has no valves. If you want an aggressive sound, it is definitely one to check out.
Do you think it's a great sound? How does it compare to others ? Not sure if I should keep stock cats or do the decats also?
If you remove the stock cats it's highly likely your get a check engine light/CEL. There are a bunch of threads on this and the only positive fix for that is to flash the ECU, an expensive proposition. The extenders many mention don't work.I had the CEL light on all the time. If that doesn't bother you then high flow cats seem like a good choice. As for the sound, that's very subjective. I'd suggest going to YouTube. There are many short videos of the various exhaust combinations. You might find one that you like. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Maybe others can chime in. I think you'd find many more capristo's or tubi's than larini's. Larini's don't appear to be as popular.
Larini's more popular on Lambos IMO. For Ferrari's, Fabspeed, Capristo and Tubi's are the common preffered ones. I am thinking about going with Fabspeed myself. Headers first or the s-pipe exhaust system. I am gathering information at the moment.
My 360 Spider has a Larini exhaust, stock cats and exhaust manifolds and I do think it sounds very good. Pretty quiet when just driving around and it does get loud when on the throttle. No resonance at all. Very Liter bike sounding when on the gas. I've driven Tubi, Fabspeed, Ferrari Sport and Capristo equipped cars. One had a significant resonance but I don't recall which one it was. It is a bit loud on startup in the garage until the variators move. But it really does sound good.
My 360 (Euro) has an unvalved Larini from previous owner - he did some vids on you tube - type in "360 Larini 04" and you should get to them. I don't think he hits 8500 rpm in the close up ones, but friends tell me when I have it sounds very similar to the pre 2014 F1 sound. As said it is loud on cold start up, but ok upto 2500 rpm, after that....who cares. Although I have never heard one in the flesh, apparently for the ultimate pre 2014 F1 sound a Kreissig system is the way to go, but i am pleased with mine from all the "wow" comments I get !!
Had a Larini they are a lower volume producer, but their quality to me is just as good.Sound is excellent, fabrication superb. I got a capristo on my latest 430 now - lovely piece and also high quality. To my mind Capristo is much better known and has a very high brand credibility index. But I personally rate Larini just as highly - would easily go with either. Resale value doesn't matter a hoot.
My vote definitely goes to Larini for certain models like the 360. If you want the best in quality, sound, fit and finish, there is little that can match it. I might even go one further and say I think it is better than the Capristo in all area's.....
I'm being offered a Larini for my Scud at a good price. I like the idea of a more F1 shriek than the OEM but the car is so perfect right now I'm concerned about meddling. Don't fix what ain't broke etc...
Yes - I understand that. Also, my advice would be - how wrong can you go? As long as you keep the OEM, you can always swap it out later and trade the Larini. Its a few hundred bucks either way. My last F cars I have always offered to return to OEM on sale
