Saw this on a TV show tonight. It pumps sealant and air into a flat tire to seal and re inflate it. Seems like a good deal at $50 on Amazon.com.

Has anyone tried this or carry it in their car?

I'm not crazy about putting all the slime into the tire. When the tire is eventually repaired properly, it has to be cleaned out. I never used the stuff, so I'm just guessing. I would imagine that it may work ok for a small leak, to get you home or to a repair shop.
    My preference was this kit:

I saw them advertised at a motorcycle show that I went to, they did a demo, it worked very nicely!
I like that there are no messy glues to deal with, or dry out. It is also very quick and easy, compared to the "standard" string type plugs. I put a set in my car, along with a very small 12v pump that I used to use on my motorcycle. I also replaced the original tire sealant can with an $8 can of fix-a-flat, just in case. Of course I would use that as a last resort, it would have the same disadvantages as the slime stuff.
The choice is yours, but I don't think that there is any great answer to a flat on our cars.

Weve turned into a society of push button sprays and slimes. Yes, beter than nothing, I guess, especially in emergencies, but much better alternative is to have the spare if the space for one is provided in the car.

These days, some manufacturers dont even provide the extra tire anymore. Sheesh. (GM is one- I had to source a spare "donut" at a jnk yard for my new chevy recently). A donut is better than instant slime goo into your hopefully repairable tire......

Works WAY better than the aerosol fix-a-flat types

These days? The 348 has not had a spare tire or jack since 1989!

Some of the local tire shops will not remove the old tire to replace it if a product like "fix-a-flat" has been used. There is the potential that it could slime their equipment and they don't want to waste their time cleaning it. You have to find a place willing to remove the old tire and and then clean the wheel yourself.

Slime is awesome...for bicycle tires. I pre-Slime mine all the time. Car? I don't know, but I do know our new Acura says any sealant spray or foam will require new tire pressure sensors in the wheel where it was used. Are there any sort of sensors in your tires/wheels?

No TPMS in my car. But this product is apparently safe for TPMS. just thought it might be something good to have...just in case.

I've had this happen. Used a big can of the aerosol goo on the family SUV when
in nowhere-town, Montana - just to get us to a city that had tire repair facilities.
(the spare was buried under a huge pile of work samples, suitcases, etc. and I
didn't want to take the 2 hours it would have taken to change the tire - we had
to stay on schedule as it was a business trip)

The Les Schwab guy DID repair our tire - but told us they normally don't touch
"fix-a-flat" tires because they have no way of knowing if the goo is toxic or
flammable. Plus they have to scrape it all out to get a good balance when it's
    back on the wheel.

He did us a nice favor, but boy did I get a lecture :p:p

It's what I've carried for years in past cars that lacked a real spare. (Actually the deluxe version.) I continue that tradition with my present cars. Much better than a can of sealant.

    Am I missing something here?

Isn’t this slime kit basically the same thing that comes standard with a new Ferrari for flat repair instead of a real tire these days?

At least that what I think is in the black pouch in my 430, a small compressor and a can of slime, and at 60 dollars it's a lot cheaper than buying it from the Ferrari parts department!
