I saw it. I have mixed emotions about it.
I see both sides of it.

Dealers have been crooked for years and need to be accountable. I think the jury was tainted by bad dealer experiences.

However, i think the $ is too much but it sends a message.

    Guess he's getting a 488 now

Seems like a big pay out for a 90k car with 14k in damages. I need that lawyer!

Punitive damages should be reduced by 90%.

Yeah, I would think that would happen under appeal.

Still, $580k in punitive damages is nothing to sneeze at.

That's enough to buy a 488 Spider and a Portofino.

I agree. But this happens so often, cars being sold "as is" with the assurance they're fully serviced and free of mechanical defect only to find megabucks in deferred maintenance. I've had it happen even from Ferrari dealers (no, not FoW). I've found most dealers will make good eventually after plenty of bitching and moaning, but we shouldn't have to go through that. And making a few examples of these guys for misrepresentation helps the industry in the long run, consumers and honest internet dealers alike.

I’ll say this, there was enough evidence of fraud and misrepresentation that the jury came back with the verdict on all three charges in our favor in one hour. Case isn’t final yet so I’ll leave it at that.
