Finally a movie where flying is featured, and according to the aviation experts well done. So realistic, two were killed filming it. I've always like the Aerostar and considered it one of the best looking twins.

Watched it last night, but don't recall it mentioning anything about the pilots killed, like when Art Scholl was killed filming Top Gun. At least they mentioned it as a tribute at the end of Top Gun.

Check this out on Barry Seal. Man did he ever live life on the edge. Anybody here know him? I would not surprise me at all if that is an yes.

Well, I'm a little embarrassed by this just watched the rest of the last video, and it basically has a pro legalization theme regarding drugs. I was looking for just the facts mam kind of video.

Geez the next to last one has evolved into a "was he involve in killing Kennedy" conspiracy. But no Bigfoot yet.

The movie had a few moments but in the end it wasn't a good movie. It was a cross between a bad documentary, a self-promoting first hand narrative and a some attempts at humor.

Nice picture of a Turbo Commander, though! The drug guys did like their Commanders-- carry a big load, go fast, and go far-- that's a Commander for you.

They used a Ted Smith Aerostar 600 in the movie...

Which was actually the plane that crashed after the filming, killing 2 pilots that made the film.

I think he may have been talking about the picture in the last video. I gather that he really used the Commanders as mentioned in one of the other post.

They used an Aerostar in the movie (and I'm sure some of the time in real life), but they definitely used a lot of Commanders. Many of them are still abandoned in South America!

The hole in the floor of the Aerostar was a bit of an artistic stretch. I owned one once (same exact model - a 601 NOT a 600 - cmon guys didn't you guys notice the Rajay turbocharger electric waste gate switches on each side of the throttles - sheesh ;))....

Be kind of hard to stuff the bags of coke between the pushrods running down through that area...
