Congrats!! Been going to Pensacola since I was young boy. We always had a beach house out on Santa Rosa Island, sound/gulf side both. My mom and dad are burried on PNAS along with my moms parents. We just sold my dads place out on Grande Lagoon, gonna miss those trips.
My father was a Colonel in USMC Reserve when he finally retired. He was a flight instructor at PNAS for about 6 years in the 50's. My grandfather on my mothers side was in the navy as a surveyor and laid out the whole PNAS. He picked the spot under a tree where he would be buried when laying out the base and there he rests in peace.
Cool. My dad might have met your dad. He was a Navy Commander at PNAS during the late '50s and then later from '63 to '66. Great story about your grandad.
