Currently have a 2024 z06 and am thinking of trading for 488. Saw a yellow one and thought it looked great.

Ferrari of LI has a 2018 yellow with 3400 miles. Asking 309k, which I think is way overpriced.

I found a 2016. It’s certified with 11k miles but has had 6 owners. Seems crazy to me, should I be worried about that? Are you better off getting a 2018 or 2019 vs 2016. Any early model bugs or don’t worry about it, if it’s certified? Or does 6 owners kill resale value? The 2016 is 249k and I think they would take 240k. New to Ferrari so not so sure about the Ferrari market. Any advise appreciated. Here is the link to the one I am looking at. https://preowned.ferrari.com/en-US/a/north-america/used-ferrari/usa/ferrari-of-rancho-mirage/488-spider/ZFF80AMA4G0219275-1742624094927

The number of owners doesn't matter when it comes to exotics. They are typically well taken care of especially since the service on these is free for the first 7 years. Owners typically baby them too. If it's certified I wouldn't worry.

If you plan on actually driving the car get the older model with more miles as you can put some miles on it and lose little to no money.

    Good luck!

Multiple owners on exotic supercars is par for the course. The Long Island car is higher spec so that's one reason other than the miles for it being more expensive. The 11k mileage car looks nice, but not sure they would come down much on it. A well equipped late model 458 Spider sells for about the same. I can't tell you about year model differences, I'm a 458 owner. The only real problem I've heard about the 488 is the turbos, sometimes those have to be replaced so make sure the warranty covers them. Join the Ferrari Club of America. You don't have to be an owner, you can join and go to your regional events and talk to the owners. Their very approachable. We have several members in my local chapter with Corvettes, Porsches, Lamborghinis and McLaren. I attended one event in my SUV.

One thing I can tell you about owning a Ferrari that may be different than your Z06, is that Ferrari's are polarizing for some people. Its mostly a positive experience with the public, but some people will be resentful, though they may not tell you but you'll be able to tell. Owners are a lot more down to Earth nice people and not snooty like a lot of non-owners think they would be.

People do like the Z06, no pushback as its all American. I have had r8, Porsche, nsx. No negative stuff. I think Ferrari might be different though. I assume they get a lot of attention?. I had a red r8 v10 spyder and it got tons of attention. Not sure if going to a 2016 488 is the right move. Nothing wrong with the Z06. Great sound, car drives great though it does tend to tram a little due to the wide tires and steering does not have great feedback

I haven't been tracking the 488 specifically but I have heard they are quite the buy right now. As others have stated number of owners does not matter much. Mine has at least 6. I think a couple of them were dealers. Condition is way more important. The one you are looking at seems well cared for. Great spec too.

Corvettes are mass produced cars. Nothing wrong with them if that is your jam. GM copied perhaps one of the greatest Ferrari's ever made (458), no one can blame them for that and then added an additional liter. I'm glad American muscle buyers found "religion" with the flat plane crank. But.......GM has never produced a car that touches all 5 senses. I owned a 2019 C7 GS. Beautiful car in my opinion. I've driven the C8. It's just a little boring in my opinion and the C7 I only owned for 3 weeks. Gearbox was garbage and interior was from 1988. C8 improved on the C7 in a lot of ways and on paper, seems like it would be a supercar. But its just not because it does not excel at all 5 senses. I'd rather own a 360 than a Z06 because the 360 touches all 5 senses. Unlike Ford with the GT, GM doesn't seem to want to take the steps to actually make a supercar. Bean counters are still in charge of GM.

Maybe the Ferrari world isn't right for you. That's ok. I attached the C7 I owned. I still think this car can hold its own look wise to my 458. It was a great looking car and had a lot of presence. However, under the hood and inside the car was a huge let down. It couldn't even keep up with my F430 which was 12 years older. But I bought it because damn, is it good looking.

I paid a bit above market ($290k) for my 2018 488 GTB but it has 2800 miles and only one prior owner. Also nearly mint condition and the classic Rosso Corsa on Cuoio spec. I definitely don’t regret it (yet).
